Under a Desert Sun: Seekers of the Cursed Vessel - Update Roundup
Hello Seekers!
We've given the recent fixes and improvements further testing, added another round of polish, and pushed everything below to the default branch. No beta branch needed—just update and play.
A more dramatic welcome
The approach to the pyramid has been overhauled, with glowing chasms and a more dramatic arrival. The Moon area also has its intended enemies, and some floating objects nearby have been cleared away.

A more dramatic welcome awaits at the pyramid.
Less backtracking, more exploring
One dungeon now has a return portal after its event, saving another walk through the cleared area. Portal visuals also received attention, including a zeppelin vista with drifting desert dust.
Lighting and graphics polish
- Fixed bright rectangular artifacts around the ground effects when fog is enabled.
- Lights now respect your chosen shadow quality consistently.
- Medium shadows now bring a major performance improvement on Steam Deck and have become the Steam Deck preset’s default. Reselect the preset if you previously saved it with High shadows.
- Nearby lights fade to a steady brightness, with adjusted activation distances and less ongoing brightness processing.
- The anti-aliasing menu now clearly shows “Off (FSR active)” while FSR is enabled, then restores your saved choice when FSR is disabled.
Also included: our recent small patch
The changes from our previous patch notes have had further testing and are included in this default-branch update:
- Combat: more reliable Trick Shot ricochets, corrected offhand elemental effects when dual wielding, and fixed melee critical-hit chances.
- Skills and gear: continued additions to your options, including Regeneration on wearables. It starts after five seconds without damage and heals up to 65% health.
- Stats and skill slots: inventory and skill-card stats refresh immediately, with stronger enforcement of slot unlock levels.
- Maps: exploration fog for three larger dungeons, cleaner presentation across the maps, and clearer return markers after boss encounters.
- UI and visual polish: a tidier four-player HUD, continued Frost Mage refinements, and an expanded credits book with page-turn and controller-cursor fixes.

Our little ice mage keeps getting a little cooler—more visual polish, one update at a time.
Thank you again to everyone testing, reporting bugs and sharing ideas. I really love how much your feedback adds to the game's polish—and how quickly we can go from a conversation to an improvement in your hands. Keep it coming!
