Ahoy, Captains!

This update comes packed with new content, improvements, quality of life and bugfixes to make progression smoother and open up even more tactical decisions and build possibilities.

New Cannonball Tactic Cards

The biggest changes in this update are focused on ship artillery. We wanted every cannon to feel unique and have its own special purpose, so we've changed how cannons and cannonballs work. From now on, each cannon can fire the standard "Cannonball" as well as one specific Cannonball Tactic Card unique to that cannon. This also means we've introduced 5 brand-new cannonballs, each included with its corresponding cannon:• Aid Shot: Increase your chances of surviving the fight by healing allies within an area.

• Netshot: Control enemy crew members by entangling them in a net, pinning them in place and dealing a small amount of damage while you plunder their ship.

• Whaler's Shot: Unleash the fury of the seas by firing a massive harpoon at an enemy and pushing them back.

• Guardshot: Grant shields to your allies, helping them survive even the toughest moments while boarding an enemy ship.

• Salvo Shot: Unleash a sequence of two shots against different targets. You know what they say: divide and conquer!

With these 5 new cards, the following is the complete list of advanced cannons and the special cannonballs they can fire:

New Events

To make sure all these new cannonballs also have tactical uses outside of combat, we've added brand-new events with new lore and adventures to experience that feature special options when you have one of these new cannonballs equipped in your ship.

Improved Emporium Progression

We've adjusted the items available at the Emporium so they better match player progression and the economy throughout a run. Lower-tier (and therefore cheaper) items will now appear more frequently in the earlier sectors, while higher-tier and more expensive items will become more common as you progress.

Bug Fixes & Quality of Life

We've also added a bunch of bug fixes in this patch, particularly addressing incorrect inventory behavior after saving and loading in certain situations, several events that could cause crashes, and a number of smaller visual issues. On top of that, we've added some quality-of-life improvements to how the game handles screen resolution and monitor selection, made it easier to skip an entire combat round, and added further clarification to some of the setup options.

And that's all for this update! We hope you continue enjoying your adventures across the seas. If you're having a good time with Red Rogue Sea, be sure to leave us a Steam review—it helps us enormously as we continue improving the game.

Fair winds,

The Captains of the Red Rogue
