ENDLESS Legend 2 will hit 1.0 in less than a month. We have been hard at work fixing bugs, making balance changes, tweaking the Sandshapers and the two new Rogue Factions. But we have also had a little time for a secret project we have been working on, Modding!
In a few days Modding will be available for anyone on The Architects update. That means you can start making your own mods or downloading them from the Steam Workshop if you have The Architects update.
The ability for modder to change the game. We are sharing a json export of all of our data files, so you can modify a huge range of things. It’s very raw data, so its powerful, but also overwhelming.
We have written a Modder’s Guide to help guide you through that. You can access it here: ModdingGuide_EL2.pdf
Note: We will try to upload the full guide directly on Steam ☝
Mod’s are available on Steam’s Workshop. You can subscribe to them through the steam client. To get there click on “Community Hub” in the games page in your Library. From that page select “Workshop”. Note that the Workshop won’t be available until The Architects update goes into PTB.
Steam workhop is the distribution platform. But, mods work on all PC platforms. The files will just need to be shared directly. Mods aren’t available on Console.
No. They will download and sit in your directory but not do anything until you going the PTB or receive The Architects update when it goes public.
Yes. Players will need to have exactly the same mods for this to work.
Probably not.
Horatio is already in the game. But yes, if you want to add your 2nd favorite character you probably can, try not to get us sued please. This is data modding though, not art, so the ability to make new art is limited (though I’m sure some modder will do something crazy here).
Absolutely!
Yes, this Kael guy has been busy playing (and breaking) the modding system and will have a few mods ready to go on release. They may be fun to try, but even more importantly they are a great reference to use if you decide to make mods of your own. This includes:
All units in the game become 50% larger. On the map, in battles and even in the equipment screen. Gorog are also 50% smellier.
Two new technologies are added to the tech tree that each unlock a new Army Slot. Bringing armies up to a max of 8 units. That means that with reinforcements you can have 16 units vs 16 unit battle.
This adds new map generation options, maps 50% larger than the base game and the ability to select if you want larger or smaller territories on those maps. You also change your ridge frequency, lake size and lake frequency.
We are so excited to see what you create and what you enjoy playing with. Please let us know your thoughts and questions. As always, your support is appreciated. Especially in this month leading up to 1.0. Your comments, feedback and steam reviews go a long way toward making sure we have a great release.
