Update v4.0.20260817 — Simulator Fixes, Honest Payout Warnings & a Full Builder Reference

This one comes almost entirely from you. Four separate reports landed on the forums after v4.0, and three of them turned out to be real bugs in the Strategy Builder and the commission math. All four are fixed, and while we were in there we found three more nobody had reported yet. The whole release was re-tested end to end before shipping.

Two new things came out of it as well, including a warning system that tells you when the table is quietly giving you the worse of two bets.

✨ New Features

  • The table now warns you when a bet is a trap. Hover a Buy chip that is quietly paying you less than the same Place bet, and the game says so: both payouts side by side, why it happens, and the exact stake you would need for the Buy to actually be worth it. Because the 5% commission carries a $1 minimum, buying the 5 or 9 for small money is genuinely worse than placing it, which is the real reason old-timers say never buy the 5 or 9 under $20. Buying the 6 or 8 never beats placing it at any stake, and the game will tell you that too.
  • A complete Strategy Builder command reference, free and online. Every one of the 48 blocks documented: what it does, where it is legal, a worked example, and the gotchas a hover tooltip never had room for. Illustrated with the real block art, plus a dozen ready-made patterns showing how the pieces fit together (guarded pressing, a capped Martingale, the 3-Point Molly, regression, stop-loss and win goals). Linked from the user manual.

🎨 Improvements & Polish

  • The simulator now tells you WHY a bet was refused. Instead of a generic "not allowed right now" repeated hundreds of times, each rejection names the actual reason and where to fix it: a bet needing an established point, a locked side bet, a number already carrying the opposite wager, or a table rule that is switched off.
  • Pre-flight warning for both-sides-of-the-line strategies. If your strategy bets Pass and Don't Pass together while that table rule is off, the builder now warns you before you simulate, so you never get a result that belongs to a different strategy than the one on your canvas.
  • Desktop-correct controls and labels. "Swipe to Roll" is now "Drag to Roll", and the shortcuts panel describes mouse actions instead of touch gestures. Craps Royale is a desktop game and now reads like one.
  • User manual brought up to date. Rewritten for the Steam release, with the stale references to browser and mobile versions removed, and the Strategy Builder finally documented.

🐞 Bug Fixes

Reported by you on the forums. Thank you, genuinely.

  • All / Tall / Small never won in the Strategy Builder simulator. The simulator was checking your ATS progress against the live table's tracker instead of the simulation's own. Since the live table sits frozen while a simulation runs, a completed Small, Tall or All set could never register, so ATS quietly lost on every 7 and never got paid. No strategy you built could have won it. Fixed, and a second problem surfaced with it: the simulator was only re-opening ATS after a seven-out, when the real table re-opens it after any 7, since the sequence runs 7 to 7. A 500,000 roll test now lands Small and Tall at about 2.7% per sequence and All at about 0.5%, matching the true odds. Note that ATS at the real table was never affected. It always tracked and paid correctly.
  • Buy 5 and Buy 9 paid less than Place on the Bubble Craps preset. The pay tables were correct, but the commission was not: we were applying a chip-and-felt rule, whole dollars with a $1 minimum, on an electronic table that settles to the cent. A $5 Buy was charged $1, so 20% instead of 5%, which wiped out the Buy's advantage. Machine tables now charge a true 5%. On chip-and-felt presets the $1 minimum is genuine casino behaviour and stays, which is exactly what the new warning above exists to explain.
  • The "Enable Side Bets" switch turned itself off between sessions. The setting lived in two places, your preferences and the saved session, and the saved session was missing one of the five side-bet groups. Every time the game resumed a session that group was switched off, and because the master switch only reads ON when all five are on, it displayed OFF. Worse, the next time you touched any setting the game wrote that "off" back into your preferences and made it stick. Fixed, and a setting missing from a save file now falls back to your preferences instead of defaulting to off, so your existing save repairs itself the first time you load it. Nothing to reset.

Found in our own testing.

  • The Strategy Builder crashed when you clicked the warnings badge. Leaving a block loose on the canvas and clicking the "1 issue" pill threw an error and the popup either failed to open or rendered half of itself.
  • The built-in Doey-Don't strategy never placed its Don't Pass. It needs the Pass + Don't Pass table rule, which ships off, so it silently ran as Pass-only and reported a result for a strategy you had not built. It now warns you up front, and with the rule switched on it plays correctly, landing within a hair of the theoretical doey-don't return.
  • Place, Buy and Lay were accepted on numbers with no box on the felt. In Standard craps the game considered a Place or Buy on the 2, 3, 11 or 12 valid even though no such box exists there. You could not click one, but a Strategy Builder strategy could place one, creating an invisible bet that then settled on Crapless payouts. The mirror of the same bug made the simulator refuse Place 2 in Easy Craps, where the felt really does have ten boxes.
  • A fresh install did not match the table preset it displayed. The setup screen showed the Standard Casino preset selected while the Buy/Lay commission was still set to the default "On Win Only" instead of the preset's "On Placement". Every other preset setting applied correctly, so the commission was the only one out of step.
  • The manual listed a Steam achievement that does not exist. A "10,000 Rolls" achievement appeared in the manual's achievement table but was never in the game, so anyone grinding for it was chasing nothing. There are 15 achievements, and the list is now accurate.

Keep the reports coming. Three of the fixes above exist because somebody took the time to describe exactly what they were seeing, and the ATS one in particular would have been very easy to miss. Good luck at the table! 🎲
