Last Friday, we rolled out the first major update following the demo launch.
Based on feedback from players who played the demo, this update overhauls the way Towers and Lines grow.
We are temporarily scrapping the previous system of leveling up Towers and Lines. However, the underlying system will be preserved so it can be repurposed for different gameplay experiences in the future.
Instead, all growth for Towers, Lines, and Skills is now integrated into the Tech Tree. Each Tech has its own Tech Tree, which gradually expands as you progress through stages.
In the current demo version, where only the first Zone is playable, up to 8 rows are unlocked.
You can upgrade the Tech Tree using Gems, three colors of Essence, and Upgrade Coupons obtained from stages.
While there are no restrictions other than currencies in the demo version, a few additional limitations will be introduced in the full release.
Below are the Tech Trees for the 3 Techs currently available.
Spiral
Bomb
Chain
In addition, as shown above, the information windows for Lines and Towers have been improved so everything is easier to understand at a glance. Several interface elements were removed due to the exclusion of the leveling system.
Although partially applied in the last update, these changes are fully finalized in this version.
As a Line's durability decreases, its color changes accordingly. You can now predict line discharge much more easily and prepare in advance.
You can now determine the number of attachable Lines on a Tower through specific parts of the Tower itself. When fewer than 4 attachable Lines remain, the parts turn black one by one.
You can now see the exact Attack Power and HP of monsters. This allows for more detailed strategic planning.
Since the 1.11 update, many of you have played the game, and more than half of our players recognized and agreed with these improvements.
However, less than half are still facing difficulties in this area.
To ensure Rainbow Tower Defense satisfies even more players, please let us know what is missing or wrong with this overhaul, and we will do our best to reflect your feedback.
Thank you very much for playing!
We hope this update provides a more enjoyable gaming experience. We always welcome your feedback in the comments or on the discussion page.
