First of all, a massive thank you to everyone who played our demo—YOU ARE AWESOME!
Over the past two sleepless weeks, we’ve been closely monitoring match data: who wins, who loses, what weapons are bought, and how traps are used. That is a ton of information, and we immediately rolled up our sleeves to fix bugs, rebalance unfair mechanics, polish visuals, and improve connection quality. We’ve accomplished a ton of work, and we’re just getting started.
Balancing Note: Game balance adjustments are based on data analyzed from over 5,000 matches. In 1v1 and 2v2 modes, Hunters previously held a 95% win rate. With these changes, matches sit at roughly 56% Hunter wins to 44% Fly wins.
Networking & System
Spectator Mode: Added spectator slots so you can watch matches worldwide, capture screenshots, and learn new strategies.
Host Connection & Lag Compensation: Improved stability so games remain playable even with ping up to ~350 ms.
Lobby UI Overhaul: Redesigned the lobby to make browsing and selecting rooms easier, including new filters and custom room creation options.
Localization: Added more language localizations alongside an in-game language switcher.
Game Modes
New Modes Added: Introduced Vacation, Balanced, Starvation, and Hide and Seek.
Note: "Balanced" is currently the primary tuned mode. The other three are still in active development, and we are working on major gameplay and clarity improvements.
Combat & Weapon Balancing
Hunter Visuals & Gunplay: Polished weapon models and animations to add more weight and impact to shooting.
Grenade Launcher Revamp: Improved smoke collision, deployment timing, and visual density to make catching Flies easier. Additional clarity on grenade types (Dance, Anti-Flight, Slow, Poison) is coming in future updates.
Stun Balance: Adjusted stun mechanics to feel lighter and fairer for both sides.
Fly Knockdown Recovery: Reduced recovery time for Flies after being knocked down to keep pacing competitive.
Interaction, Traps & Rescue Mechanics
Targeting & Selection: Fixed selection overlapping. You can now clearly target a laser to deactivate it, or target the jar directly to rescue a teammate without accidental triggers.
Rescue Collision Fix: Rescuing a teammate from a jar no longer causes them to trigger nearby lasers invisibly and knock both players out.
Laser Trap Deactivation: Flies can now temporarily disarm laser traps. Be careful—they will reactivate after a short duration!
Rescue Navigation: Added a Rescue Panel to help guide you directly to captured teammates.
Portals: Polished portal travel effects and visuals.
UI & Quality of Life
UI Prompts: Improved text readability and prompt clarity for both Hunters and Flies.
Contextual UI Tips: Added clear interaction prompts (e.g., dynamic "Pick Up" prompts when approaching a downed Fly).
Tutorial Boards: Replaced temporary placeholder art with custom illustrations for both Hunter and Fly tutorial boards.
