The Second Reign: Reclaim demo just received its biggest update so far.
This is much more than a balance patch. Combat, co-op, enemies, progression, localization, and many smaller systems have been reworked. The demo should now feel noticeably more active, balanced, and polished than the previous version.
You are no longer limited to supporting your defenders from the sidelines.
Players can now fight alongside them using a full sword combat system, including light attacks, combos, and heavy attacks, while still having access to healing and abilities.
You can now:
Fight enemies directly with your sword
Use light combos and heavy attacks
Heal defenders with the healing beam
Mark priority enemies for your defenders to focus
Use Sanctuary and Divine Blessing
Activate Red Sword and Green Sword abilities
Help your defenses survive instead of simply watching the battle unfold
Some enemies can now target players directly as well, so positioning and fighting alongside your army matters much more.
Solo and online co-op have both received major balancing changes.
Enemy pressure, bosses, progression, upgrades, rewards, and the later parts of runs have been adjusted. Co-op systems were also reworked so playing with a second player feels much more consistent instead of simply scaling everything upward.
Level 1 now includes new elite surges between bosses, bringing more dangerous enemy groups into the fight and making the run less predictable.
Bosses and late-run difficulty have also been retuned, alongside Remnant rewards and progression pacing.
The game has received a complete localization overhaul. Menus, settings, HUD elements, cards, abilities, defenders, levels, bosses, progression screens, connection messages, and other game text have been translated.
The demo now supports:
English, Arabic, Bulgarian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malay, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese - Brazil, Portuguese - Portugal, Romanian, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Spanish - Spain, Spanish - Latin America, Swedish, Thai, Traditional Chinese, Turkish, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.
Languages such as Arabic, Thai, Chinese, Japanese, and Korean also received dedicated font and text-layout work so they display properly rather than being treated as simple text replacements.
Online co-op connection quality and stability have been improved, sword combat and animations have received additional polish, ability and cooldown behaviour has been cleaned up, push-to-talk now has visible microphone feedback, several UI issues have been fixed, and various level visuals and gameplay details have been improved.
There are many smaller fixes and adjustments throughout the game as well.
If you played the demo before this update, I highly recommend giving it another run. The core experience has changed significantly, and this version is much closer to what I want Second Reign: Reclaim to feel like.
Thank you to everyone who has played, shared feedback, or wishlisted the game. There is still much more to come.
