It’s been quite a journey getting to where we are today, with plenty of challenges along the way, but from here, there’s only one direction to go: up!

Today, we want to answer some of your most frequently asked questions, share a few updates on NightRunner, and, as a small thank-you, show off some new screenshots.

The Q&A

  • Question: Is NightRunner an Extraction Shooter?

  • Answer: No, it only shares some mechanics; e.g., you can lose your weapons if you die during a Mission (Job).

  • Question: Can I play NightRunner in single-player?

  • Answer: Yes, you can play NightRunner in single-player and offline.

  • Question: Does NightRunner offer an arachnophobia mode?

  • Answer: Yes!

  • Question: Is NightRunner purely PvE?

  • Answer: Yes.

  • Question: How big is a default lobby?

  • Answer: NightRunner is a 4-player co-op shooter.

  • Question: Is NightRunner coming to console?

  • Answer: We currently don't have the capacity to work on console versions, but we definitely want to reach as many gamers as possible. In short: we want to release it on console, but we can't promise anything at this point.

  • Question: When does the playtest start?

  • Answer: This month (September), we will announce the date soon!

  • Question: How do you fund development?

  • Answer: The development is currently funded by us (314 Arts) and the Film-Medien Stiftung NRW.
