Q: Does the game require an internet connection to play?
A: Yes. Currently, many services require network connection to verify and sync, including player profiles, content ownership authentication, unlock progress, gameplay scores, and other data. Features such as the leaderboards and P.A.T.C.H. ratings also rely on the network.
Therefore, under the game’s current system architecture, an internet connection is required to play PLATiNA :: LAB.
Q: What's new in the 1.0 official release?
A: The 1.0 version introduces an all-new story chapter and several new DB characters! We've also added tons of new features, including comprehensive player stats, leaderboards, sticker collections, and a beginner tutorial, along with a complete overhaul of the UI and systems!
For the full 1.0 patch notes, please check our preview announcement here:
Q: What are the future update plans after the 1.0 release? When is the [Online Mode] expected to be added?
A: Following the 1.0 release, we will roll out the Friends feature and the Quest system. Additionally, for Online Mode, our goal is to launch a closed beta test for this feature within 2026.
Q: What will happen to player scores and unlock progress after the 1.0 update?
A: Starting from Version 1.0, the game has undergone a major revamp of multiple systems, including the score and accuracy mechanics, the P.A.T.C.H. point and rank structure, as well as judgment windows.
To ensure that player records are fairly evaluated under the revamped scoring system and to foster a healthy, sustainable ranking environment for the long term, we have reset existing play scores in the 1.0 update.
However, except for play records such as peak performances per chart, the following data will not be reset and will remain fully intact:
Unlocked status of tracks and items
Affinity Levels for each DB character and rewards earned from Affinity
Rewards obtained through Research Notes progress
Rewards claimed via promotional codes
We fully recognize the deep significance and effort represented by these score records. As such, we plan to introduce a "Hall of Fame" section on our official website in the near future, allowing players to revisit their play records from the Early Access period at any time.
Q: What is the current state of the game's optimization and performance?
A: The dev team is actively working to improve the game's performance and stability.
In the previous version, we identified high memory usage—rising as high as 4–5 GB in certain environments—as a major issue that could reduce performance or cause unexpected errors.
For Version 1.0, we have refactored the core judgment and input systems and fixed sound-related crash issues, improving overall client stability.
We will continue releasing further updates focused on reducing memory usage and preventing frame drops, with the goal of delivering a smoother experience for all Decoders.
Q: When will the compensation bonus content for all players be released?
A: We plan to release the original track "Earth Sci" as a free update for all players within September to thank our community for the continuous and valuable feedback and suggestions.
If you encounter any bugs in the game, please feel free to join our official Discord server to report them. Our moderators will assist you and log your issues one-on-one:
We also welcome all Decoders to leave your valuable thoughts and suggestions on PLATiNA :: LAB. And wish you a smooth and joyful rhythm journey!
