Hi Folks,
I'm currently finalising an update which I hope to launch at the beginning of next week.
I've really enjoyed chatting with players and getting some amazing feedback. I really appreciate it, and I hope I can reciprocate by making the necessary improvements that will, over time, deliver a unique hand-crafted game worthy of players' time.
The upcoming update includes several priority changes aimed at addressing some of the issues highlighted since the initial demo launch.
I've added a new side-quest which can be started by talking to a travelling merchant in the Village of Breane. (He's there 24 hours a day.)
The village overall seems to have landed well, but a few players have wanted a little more to do if they happen to arrive there early in the demo.
I could see from a few YouTube videos that some important demo content was being unintentionally missed.
It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway - that's totally on me.
The game is designed around exploration, but having important demo content be too easy to miss isn't ideal. :/
Originally, my intention was that players would discover their starting weapon either through the UI, the tutorial, or in a chest close to the start.
This had a few issues, including the fact that it was still possible to progress without a weapon.
I've now changed this so players start with a weapon, shield and spell.
Better weapons are still discoverable throughout the world.
I've added some bones to character creation - hopefully this should start to make it feel a little more solid with more to come!
The update should land early next week. I just have a little more testing and polishing to do.
UI polish is unlikely to make this update, but that will follow in the coming weeks.
As always, feel free to reach out if you have any thoughts, feedback or suggestions.
Until next time - which, in this case, should be early next week.
Jeff
