Hey, store managers!
We’re so excited to share the news with you! Our latest chapter, Chapter 8: Bar Street, will be joining the main branch as part of the 1.0 update, too.
We’re heading to Bar Street for Chapter 8! You’ll be serving up beer, cocktails, and other alcoholic drinks in a variety of glasses, then putting those glasses through the dishwasher so they’re ready to use again.
When pouring beer, keep an eye on how much foam spills over. Each customer has their own preference, so you’ll need to get it just right!
Once they’ve finished their drinks, customers will leave their empty glasses on trays in the customer area that still have room. It’s up to you to collect them and get them washed for the next round. Keep those trays clear, though: if a customer spends too long looking for somewhere to leave their glass, they’ll drop it on the floor and walk out…
All four levels in Chapter 8 will be available on October 16, with recipes, equipment, and new ways to play for you to try out!
While we get ready for Chapter 8, let's take a look at some of the things we've already added along the way.
Our crew now has eight characters to choose from: Bear, Wolf, Fox, Beaver, Ghost, Slime, Panda, and Crocodile.
Each brings their own strengths and quirks to the job. Bear can carry items without slowing down, but moves at a slower pace to begin with. Wolf has a speedy dash, but tends to slide around. Ghost can pass right through other characters and regular customers, but gets no benefit from arm or leg equipment.
You’ll start with Bear, Wolf, and Fox, then unlock the rest by meeting each character’s requirements. Keep running your store to earn experience and work your way up the ranks, unlocking more passive and active skills as you go.
Hop on the subway and spend a day helping out at a Direct Store! Expect random elements in everything from levels, drink recipes, and layouts to extra difficulty modifiers, events, and equipment upgrades. At the start of each run, you’ll choose cards over several rounds to build your deck.
There are two challenges to choose from:
Daily Designated Direct Store: A new setup each day, based on the date on Steam. The day’s random elements stay fixed, giving you a chance to try different card choices and re-draw combinations.
Random Direct Store: A fresh random setup after every challenge.
You’ll also find layouts and difficulty modifiers exclusive to Subway Mode.
Once you’ve picked a card for the first time, you can look up what it does at your Computer Desk back home.
The leaderboards reset daily based on the date on Steam, with rankings determined by your total profit for the level. Switch to the friends view to see how you stack up against your friends!
Give your crew a new look! Our outfit system uses the Steam Inventory Service, and you can earn mail by completing levels and building up online playtime. Every full hour of accumulated online playtime earns you a letter, which you can redeem at your mailbox at home for a random outfit.
You can recycle duplicate outfits into Button Coins, then spend them at Cup Mart for another random outfit. Or spend more Button Coins to get a random outfit for a specific character.
Every chapter you complete lets you upgrade your home once and unlocks more furniture to buy. There are pieces that give you bonuses during levels, as well as furniture you can interact with at home.
And don’t forget your Display Case! It’s been with us from the start, and unlocking more levels gives you more decorations to choose from. Each decoration you equip offers its own effect during levels.
Alongside automatic save backups, we’ve added daily saves, so you can keep saves from up to 30 different dates.
If you ever need to return to an earlier save, just select Load from the main menu and choose the one you’d like to use.
That’s just a taste of what we’ve added. We’ll leave the rest for you to discover as you play!
There’s more to come for Feed the Cups after 1.0! We’ve got more content planned for future updates, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Before we go, thank you for being part of Feed the Cups over these 33 months in Early Access. Thank you for every bit of feedback, every suggestion, and all the support you’ve shown us along the way. We’re so glad you’ve been here with us.
See you on October 16 for the 1.0 launch!
