Ocean Pop! : Calypso Collision · published · build 25126276

A new 'Challenge' mode has been added to Ocean Pop! : Calypso Collision. This game mode does add a little extra challenge but also has greater rewards for those chasing high scores!
New creatures introduced in the Challenge mode:
A very grumpy Octopus! Chain combinations earn more points but also makes the Octopus grumpy as you disturb his sleep. Make him grumpy enough and he will throw rocks into the play area, making it more difficult for you to combine creatures and get to that Whale Shark.
The Peacock Mantis Shrimp will come to your aid. The Mantis Shrimp loves smashing rocks and can be used to break up the rocks thrown by the grumpy Octopus. It's hard work though - after smashing rocks to pieces he will need a rest to recharge. The recharge time will gradually increase with every use.
The Squid makes a return! Use the Squid to clear creatures if you are at risk of breaching the game over line. Be warned, the Squid will be stopped if there are rocks in their path.
Achievements:
There are 8 new achievements available with this latest release of the game - can you obtain them all?
Achievement language support has now been included for: English (duh!), French, German, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese-BR, Russian, Simplified Chinese and Spanish. (Apologies my Cymraeg speakers - Steam does not support this for Achievements yet!)
The new game mode can be selected via the 'Challenge' menu item within the New Game menu.
The original game mode is still available and can be selected from the New Game menu. The original game mode has been renamed to 'Cosy' - it's a larger play area, a slower pace and no grumpy Octopus lobbing rocks at you.
There is now a Tutorial scene to help players understand the controls and the mechanics of the game. This can be accessed via the 'Tutorial' option in the New Game menu.
A number of performance fixes have been applied to reduce the load on the CPU and GPU - this game runs on my old potato laptop, so I'm hoping it will run on your potatoes (or fancy pants PCs - whatever you have!).
