Two weeks ago, I was at gamescom, exhibiting Bet on Beta, and I was also on stage to share some of my perspectives of UX/UI designer making a game after 15 years in the tech industry. It was a crazy week, after an intense month of development and marketing, to have everything ready for the event.
And how it was worth it! Seeing a lot of people having fun with the game, talking with some of them, meeting other indies, and sharing feedback. Thanks to you all who played Bet on Beta, and to A Maze for hosting the game at their booth. I returned inspired and with a good list of ideas.
As most of you may not have played the gamescom demo yet, I will not go into detail about everything that is changing. But in general:
Some design changes to make the encounters faster and encourage a bit more strategic gameplay;
Rework of the card selection mechanic
A lot of tooltip changes where things were not clear;
Some balance changes, as some choices were underperforming;
Minor bug fixes;
After applying all those changes, there will be an open playtest here on Steam!
Keep it rolling,
Jonas
