Hello, Vikings!
First of all, thank you for all the support, feedback, and chaos you've brought to Badassgard throughout our demos and Closed Alpha Test!
By now, many of you have experimented with different builds, mixed and matched OParts, and discovered increasingly ridiculous ways to blast your way through Badassgard.
But maybe you've also had this thought:
“What if THIS was an OPart?”
Well... now's your chance to make it happen.
We're excited to announce the Badassgard OParts Design Contest, where we're inviting YOU to come up with an original OPart that could one day become part of the game!
Design an OPart, tell us what it does, and show us how it could make a Viking's build even more powerful, chaotic, or just plain fun.
And if your idea is selected, we'll work on bringing it into Badassgard itself — with a naming homage to the Viking who created it!
We're looking for OParts that could give Vikings new and interesting ways to destroy their enemies.
Visual design matters, but this contest isn't just about drawing the coolest-looking artifact (though it would help visualize for us).
We're especially interested in what your OPart DOES.
Maybe it's...
A blessing that completely changes how you approach a build.
A strange new ammo type that changes how you fight.
A rune that makes your shotgun slugs behave in ways they definitely shouldn't.
Or something so absurd that even the Gods may or may not regret bestowing their blessings to you.
You decide.
The strongest entries will be ideas that introduce something interesting to Badassgard's existing gameplay while still feeling like they belong in its world.
So don't worry if you're not an artist! A great gameplay idea is just as important as how the OPart looks.
Every Viking needs a few rules before being sent into battle:
You must be a member of the Badassgard Discord server to participate. Entry submissions and communication with the dev team will take place through Discord.
Entries must be your own original creations and should not use characters, designs, or other intellectual property belonging to third parties.
Each participant may submit up to 3 entries. So don’t worry if you have more than one idea in mind.
Please avoid inappropriate or excessively graphic content.
If a winning OPart is selected for implementation, its design, effects, balance, or presentation may be adjusted (slightly!) to fit the final game.
Submitted entries may be featured through official Badassgard channels, including X and YouTube.
By entering the contest, participants acknowledge that their submitted concepts may be adapted and incorporated into Badassgard as part of the game's development.
The OParts Design Contest begins September 14th!
By then, our Closed Alpha Vikings — along with everyone who's played the demo since BIC — will have had plenty of time to get familiar with Badassgard's combat, builds, and OParts.
From there, you'll have about one month to forge your idea and submit your entry.
One idea. Two ideas. Three completely unhinged OParts.
Show us what you think Badassgard is missing.
