Hey. I’m Chris.
More than a hundred of you have asked to join the Epoch Studio playtest. I saw that number and, honestly, it hit me.
I started building Epoch because I was trying to write my own book and got tired of tools that could produce words but couldn’t truly keep track of the world around them. Characters knew things they shouldn’t. Continuity drifted. And too many AI tools expected me to hand over the writing itself.
So I started building the studio I wanted: local AI, private files, a living model of your cast, world, and timeline—and one place to write, analyze, illustrate, lay out, listen to, and finish your book.
This is a real alpha.
Some parts are deeper than people expect. Some parts are going to be weird. Things will break. I’m not going to pretend otherwise.
What I can promise is that I’m here. I read what you send. I care about making this useful for actual writers—not manufacturing the appearance of a perfect beta.
I’m opening access in small waves so I can actually listen. If you get in, use Epoch on something you genuinely care about. Then tell me:
What made you lean in
What confused you
What pissed you off
What you immediately wanted next
That’s more valuable to me than a survey full of polite answers.
I’ll keep posting what changed, what broke, what I’m trying, and what comes next. Thanks for raising your hand this early.
If you want these updates, hit Follow on the Epoch Studio store page. Playtest requests and Steam follows are separate.
