Hey Shopkeepers,

We've rolled out an update to the open Playtest build, including a new hard mode starting scenario, water upgrades and lots of quality of life and bug fixes!

New Content

  • New starting scenario: Rock Bottom (hardcore mode, you start with nothing)

  • Water trading guide can now be bought from Dr. Jackson New

  • Wild Network upgrades available in the open playtest: Retired Water Merchant, Gutterflow on Tap, Rustwater on Tap (Not the Water Trade Starting Scenario when starting a new game)

Quality of Life

  • Non-16:9 aspect ratios monitors can now use Full Screen mode, which will display black bars

Changes

  • Display case will no longer work on the first day if the tutorial is enabled to not mess up the tutorial sequence

  • Blank disposable keycards can no longer be inserted into the output slot of the cryptographic desequencer, to avoid confusion

  • Cassette player will resume playing on load if it was playing when the game was saved

  • Changed the sprite used to represent [Poison] in the underground exchange directive to the cyanide pill, to avoid confusion

  • The vacuum robot now displays more clearly that it only operates at night and that it has a manual function At -40 reputation with the Black Market, players now retain access to the janitorial service, but the cost is doubled

  • Players can no longer lose the game with the "Augmented" ending for missing too many augs, unless playing on Hard Mode Added a 60 FPS cap to prevent increased load on faster hardware

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed a bug where players could use non-owned bandages

  • Fixed a bug where the auto-play feature would sometimes break on the music cassette after reloading

  • Fixed a bug where certain languages set in the player's operating system could cause localization issues (a fresh save is required to see the change if you were affected by this bug)

  • Certain essential recurring customers are now marked as non-shootable

  • Fixed a bug where the store attractiveness meter did not match the real value when additional bonuses were applied, such as from the Mirage Projector Fixed a bug that caused players to get stuck with the security inspector

  • Fixed a bug where some text in German, Russian, and Chinese was mixed up

  • Fixed a bug where players could enter a state that blocked them from interacting with inventory items after certain UI interactions

  • Fixed a bug where phone-ordered supplies would not register if the player hung up too early

  • Fixed a bug where certain barter customers offered nothing in the trade

  • Fixed a minor visual bug where a single vertical line in the inventory was slightly thicker than the others

P.S. Have you guys found the secret scenario yet? It's been there since the beginning. Look closely at the starting professions selection screen to find it.
