Nova Swarm Patch Notes: Run Report and Smoother Mayhem

The focus this time is simple: make Mayhem a little less overwhelming, and make the end of a run easier to understand without cluttering the Game Over flow.

What Changed

  • Added an optional RUN REPORT button on Game Over.
  • The full report is hidden by default, so restart, leaderboard, hangar, and main menu actions stay front and center.
  • Run Report summarizes the run with compact sections for Run, Combat, Survival, and Rewards.
  • The report includes core details such as mode, ship, score, sector reached, runtime, kills, boss kills, waves cleared, and tracked survival/reward stats when available.
  • Run Report is local-only. It does not call network APIs, upload data, change Steam leaderboards, or change Steam Cloud/save compatibility.
  • Reduced overall difficulty by about 10%.
  • Reduced the maximum extra Mayhem reinforcement waves from 5 to 3, so Mayhem can still spike without stacking quite so many extra waves at once.

Why This Changed

Recent feedback made it clear that some Mayhem moments could pile up too hard, especially when several extra waves arrived together. The goal is not to make Nova Swarm harmless. The goal is to keep the pressure readable enough that deaths feel earned instead of smothered.

The Run Report is there for the same reason. After a good or painful run, you can now quickly check what happened without turning the normal Game Over screen into a spreadsheet.
