The EMPULSE demo is live on Steam, and we're treating this week like a live event. New content drops almost every single day from June 15th through June 21st. New maps, modes, playlists, guns, and a first look at Competitive will drop throughout the week.
Our Next Fest demo exists because we want as many players as possible in EMPULSE before the Early Access launch, telling us what's working and what isn't. For example, we have already heard feedback on the Finale Hammer and we plan to make adjustments for the Early Access launch. A few things worth knowing going in the demo:
This is a demo, not the full game. Early Access will ship with more maps, more modes, additional Gigs, full progression systems, refer-a-friend, and more. Treat Next Fest as the slice that lets you decide if EMPULSE is for you.
Progress resets after the demo. We're using this week to test and tune the systems that ship on June 24, so anything tied to progression is in test mode. Nothing you earn this week carries over to Early Access.
Everything in Next Fest is free. No purchase needed, although wishlists are very much appreciated!
Here's what's landing this week, and when.
Day 1 / June 15: The demo opens with a full slice of EMPULSE. Four maps, four modes, and a starting playlist featuring CTM, TDM, Upload, and Intel. Movement, mechs, P.A.I.N.T. Bombs, all in a sandbox built around them. This is just a taste of what’s to come!
Day 2 / June 16, Refinery: A new map joins the rotation. Our biggest map yet with a mix of close quarters, open lanes, and some crazy wall-runs around the edges of the map.
Day 4 / June 18, Control: A territory-based mode joins the playlist permanently. In this mode, take turns attacking and defending the zones with a limited number of lives. Movement and mech control decide who owns the map.
Day 5 / June 19, Lancer v Lancer: For 24 hours only, the Lancer v Lancer featured mode goes live. A mode all about movement with no mechs! Worth jumping in even if you only play one session.
Day 6 / June 20, Competitive Practice: A 4v4 Competitive Practice playlist opens for the weekend. Smaller team size, higher intensity, a place for players who want to dial things in and get sweaty heading into Early Access. Ranked goes live on day 1 of Early Access, and this is your opportunity to test the ranked ruleset ahead of time and give us your feedback.
When Next Fest ends, Early Access begins. EMPULSE launches on June 24 for $19.99 across Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, with a launch-week discount. When we launch in Early Access, we will have no paid cosmetics, no microtransactions, and no store, so we can focus on refining the game.
We'll be in the game with you throughout Early Access, watching, listening, and shipping changes fast based on what you tell us. For more details on our Early Access philosophy, please read this Steam blog. AUTO-CLIPPING WITH MEDAL.TV
