KnighTD Demo Update 0.9.1
1 October 2026
This update adds a full settings menu with rebindable keys, hover tooltips across the build and upgrade screens, upgrades that tell you what they buy before you pay, and a balance pass over units, support towers and level scaling.
New
- Settings menu. Audio, Display and Controls tabs, opened from the main menu or the pause screen. Volume sliders, resolution, refresh rate, window mode, monitor, VSync, a frame rate cap, and a reset to defaults.
- Rebindable keys. Select a binding, then press the key or mouse button you want. The game tells you when an input is already taken, and any single binding can be reset on its own.
- Hover tooltips. Unit cards, tower cards and elemental upgrade cards explain themselves on hover. Keywords inside a tooltip open a second tooltip for the term, and element matchups are described from the same table combat reads.
- Upgrade previews. Hovering Upgrade prints the stat block the next tier would give, for towers and for units, including when you cannot afford it or are already at the top tier.
- Element choice cards carry their keyword copy on the card instead of behind a hover.
- Loot cards colour their rarity label, so a legendary no longer reads the same as a common at a glance.
- Snipe mark bar above Physical Archers. They had no bar at all before, because they carry no mana pool.
- A faster game speed step on the HUD toggle.
- Damage per wave. The DPS panel shows the wave's total damage next to its title, alongside each unit's share of it, and resets when the next wave starts.
- A first-launch notice that says what the demo contains, with a link to the store page.
Balance and rules
- Mana no longer regenerates on its own. Mage Tower coverage is the source now, so mana is something you build for rather than wait on.
- Level scaling. Enemy health and wave size grow with every completed level, and both keep climbing across New Game+ blocks instead of resetting at each one. The per-wave enemy cap is gone.
- Support towers reworked. Each tower now gives every unit class in range its own buff, so Archers, Mages, Spearmen and Swordsmen are tuned separately instead of sharing one buff plus a bonus for the tower's own class. Range is no longer limited to a tower's matching class.
- Balance pass over all four support towers as, with rewritten descriptions and tooltips.
- Skeleton casters rebalanced.
- Waves mix enemy types more evenly. The old shuffle could send long runs of a single type with no way to plan around them.
Interface
- HUD layout. Wave progress sits beside Flow, the modifier category buttons share a single row, and the status bar is centred again.
- World bars draw under the explore prompts. Enemy health, armor and barrier bars, unit mana bars, snipe marks and the boss bar no longer cover the EXPLORE labels.
- Panel clicks no longer reach the board. Cliused to select the tile behind it. The settings andelement choice screens hold input while they are open.
- Camera rotation. Q and E turn the way you expect, and rotating orbits the view in place instead of sweeping it across the map.
- DPS rows use the unit's current name, so ane same here as on the choice card.
Fixes
- Enemy regeneration no longer rounds a heal up to a whole point on every tick. Under Bloodmoon that let enemies out-heal
anything you could deal; healing now accrues properly - Monitor switching in settings moves the window, and a resolution the new display cannot do is snapped to the closest it supports instead of leaving the window where it was.
- Chest clicks no longer select the tile unde
- Tooltip copy. Matchup lines read as labels rather than ranges, the Lightning Spearman no longer repeats the Swordsman text,
and the Ice Archer and Fire Spearman abilities read F
