Patch #6 - Difficulty Settings, Direct Ship Navigation, Event Bribes and More

Hey Mateys,

Patch #6 is here, and this one brings a bigger batch of new features, gameplay improvements, and fixes to Corsair Cove!

Some of you may already recognise a few of these additions from our Gamescom previews, while others were inspired directly by your feedback and discussions within the community.

One of the biggest additions is a new set of Difficulty Settings and Presets, giving you more control over how you want to experience Corsair Cove – whether you’re looking for a much tougher challenge or prefer a more relaxed, cozy pirate adventure.

We’ve also added Direct Ship Navigation, giving you more control over your ships on the Seven Seas, as well as the option to bribe certain Events with Coin. And be careful when provoking the Crown: bold proclamations may now have considerably more severe consequences...

Another important change concerns Drifter distribution between islands. Thanks to your reports and discussions, we were able to track down an issue where constructing or demolishing Pirate Camps could cause Drifters to unexpectedly relocate between islands, sometimes resulting in sudden housing outrages.

Patch #6 adjusts how this redistribution is handled to prevent these situations.

Beyond these highlights, the update includes a range of improvements to Sea Events, trading, ship repair, tooltips, progression, and UI clarity, alongside another round of stability and bug fixes.

v1.1.6.246563 Changelog

Improvements

  • Added additional Difficulty Settings and Difficulty Presets.

  • Added an option to bribe certain Events.

  • Added Direct Ship Navigation.

  • Provoking the Crown with a proclamation will now have more severe consequences.

  • Adjusted Drifter distribution to prevent unexpected relocation between islands when constructing or demolishing a Pirate Camp.

  • Increased the maximum number of Fetchers in the Trading Post to five.

  • Improved Sea Event entry options so all available choices, such as Auto-Battle, Bribe, or Voodoo Dice, are clearly presented when starting an Event.

  • Improved the potential damage preview for Auto-Battle by displaying result categories such as “A Hard-Won Prize” or “A Sunday Sail”.

  • Reduced mid-game difficulty by moving Tabby Concrete and Cannonball production chains from mid to late game and adding a “Slop Shop” Compass productivity booster.

  • Added hotkeys to tooltips for multiple button shortcuts.

  • Added information to Warehouse tooltips explaining how to remove slots with no resources remaining.

  • Added a dedicated “Ship in Repair” status.

  • Unified warning icons for choices that will result in a ship’s defeat.

Known Issue: Background Music

We know that some of you are still experiencing an issue where the background music can disappear during gameplay.

Unfortunately, this has proven to be a particularly tricky issue to track down. We are actively investigating it and have recently found some additional leads that we hope will help us get to the root of the problem.

We know this has been a recurring frustration for affected players, and we appreciate your patience while we work towards a proper fix. We’ll share more as soon as we have something concrete.

As always, thank you for all your reports, feedback, and discussions. They don’t just help us track down issues – they also play an important part in how we continue improving Corsair Cove.
