As you all know, we will release our new game later this Thursday into Early Access. Many of you asked why, when we announced that the game will be an Early Access title, we removed all languages but English from our Steam store page. The reason is simple: we can only list there what we can provide at the launch of Early Access, not what is planned for the 1.0 release.We are therefore happy to confirm that the game will have German text localization and partial voice-over localization from the start.This means (almost*) all texts are already available in German, and the narrator is voiced by the series' original actor, Aart Veder.*Please note that some texts might still appear in English. The game is in active development, and while we try to keep up with localization with each update of the game, something might slip through. The Early Access release version will have English texts in a few places where we still need to solve technical issues.
Additional Languages
As we’ve mentioned on our roadmap, we will add more languages during the Early Access period. Currently, we can confirm French, Spanish, Czech, Polish, Russian and Simplified Chinese.
Adding a new language to our game is no easy task, as every language has different and very specific rules. While we were very careful during development to make sure all languages can be added properly, a lot of testing and back-and-forth with the translators is still needed. In addition to this, The Guild is not an easy game to translate with all of its systems and its special humor. We want to take our time with every localization so the game feels right in every language.If you have any more questions about our localization process or the game in general, let us know on our Discord server or on the Steam forums!
