Hey everyone!
After a long time in development, the next major update for Raven's Carnage is finally here.
This is one of the biggest updates the game has received so far. Alongside the release of a completely new map, Atomic Evil, this update introduces new weapons, enemies, progression systems, major gameplay changes, improvements to existing maps, a redesigned hub, multiple save files, and much more.
Let's get into it!
A brand-new map has been added to Raven's Carnage: Atomic Evil.
Explore a radioactive environment filled with new threats, mechanics, secrets, and challenges.
Atomic Evil introduces:
☢️ Uranium Katalysator — A brand-new Katalysator centered around the power of uranium.
🔫 Expelis — A new weapon capable of pushing enemy projectiles away from you.
☢️ Uranium Trap — A new radioactive trap exclusive to the map.
🗿 Artifact Shop — Atomic Evil features the new Artifact Shop system alongside the other maps.
And, of course, Atomic Evil has its own main quest to discover.
This is one of the most important gameplay changes in this update.
Automatic revival has been REMOVED.
Previously, Raven could automatically enter the spectral dimension after dying and get another chance to return.
This no longer happens by default.
If Raven dies, it's immediately Game Over.
However, there's now a new item:
Having a Spectral Life gives you a chance to revive yourself through the Spectral Dimension.
In other words, resurrection is no longer something you can always rely on. Spectral Life is now a resource you need to obtain if you want another chance after death.
Choose carefully how you use it.
Enemy encounters have received significant balancing changes.
Combat is now much more focused around melee enemies.
Projectile-based enemies are still present, but they are now intended to be the minority instead of constantly dominating encounters.
Starting at Round 10, minibosses can now appear during regular rounds!
You'll encounter enemies such as:
Amalgam
R.O.B.I.N
And others...
Expect later rounds to become increasingly dangerous as these enemies begin appearing alongside the regular hordes.
Raven's movement speed has been increased.
The increased movement speed makes combat more responsive and helps Raven keep up with the faster pace of the game, especially during later rounds.
The Shield system has been redesigned to be much easier to understand.
All shields now have the same defensive value.
The effectiveness of your protection is determined by the round rather than the individual shield you're carrying.
Each of the three shields protects Raven with the same effectiveness, meaning that what matters now is simply:
How many shields do you have?
The main Hub has received several changes, additions, and layout improvements.
The way you access missions has also changed, with a redesigned Mission Portal for selecting where you want to go next.
The Arsenal has received an important new feature as well:
You can now delete weapons saved in your Arsenal.
A new Main Menu has been added!
Raven's Carnage now supports 3 separate save files.
You can start a completely new journey without having to erase your existing progression.
The Bow can now be upgraded into the:
This new upgrade can be obtained in Echoes of Midnight.
The map has also received several visual improvements throughout the environment.
The main quests of two existing maps have received significant changes:
Hideout 116
Forsaken
Several steps have been changed and reworked to improve the overall progression of their quests.
Even if you've completed these maps before, you might find that things don't work exactly the way you remember.
A classic joins Raven's Carnage.
The legendary SMG has been added to the game's weapon roster.
Fast fire rate. Lots of bullets.
You know what to do.
Artifact Shops are now available on every map, including Atomic Evil.
This makes Artifacts a much more consistent part of progression regardless of which map you're playing.
The HUD has received several visual improvements.
We've also changed how your inventory information is displayed.
Press TAB at any time to view your:
Items
Artifacts
This keeps the main HUD cleaner while still giving you quick access to everything you're carrying.
The Game Over menu has been completely improved and expanded.
The new screen provides a much more complete end to each run and replaces the previous simplified Game Over menu.
Alongside everything above, this update includes several smaller adjustments, visual improvements, balance changes, and fixes throughout Raven's Carnage.
Some of the biggest gameplay changes introduced in this update include:
Increased Raven movement speed
Greater focus on melee enemies
Reduced presence of projectile-based enemies
Minibosses appearing from Round 10 onward
Simplified Shield system
Spectral Life is no longer automatic
Artifact Shops available across all maps
Improved HUD and inventory visualization
Improved Game Over screen
Visual improvements to Echoes of Midnight
Major quest changes to Hideout 116 and Forsaken
Multiple save files
Hub and Mission Portal improvements
Arsenal weapon deletion
This update represents a major step forward for Raven's Carnage.
A lot has changed — not only with the addition of Atomic Evil, but also in the way the game feels, progresses, and challenges you.
Whether you're returning to Raven's Carnage or jumping in for the first time, there's a lot waiting for you.

Survive the rounds.
And don't die without a Spectral Life. 👻
