Week 5/52 Development Update

Week 5/52 developer update vlog for Pixel Rush: RTS! The game is planned to release exactly 47 weeks from today, on June 22 2027, and in this video I go over the content improvements made over the last two weeks.

The Skybox and environment lighting vibe was updated to more closely match the games aesthetic.

I introduced a level toggle to the main menu, so now the player can choose from the Forest Level and the Dungeon Level - and the main menu will dynamically render a new scene on the main menu for a fun polished look.

The Dungeon Level has been created! The basic lanes are in place, and just needs to be filled out with a few more environmental props. The dungeon level includes raised pathways and stairs; which required the monster pathing logic to be overhauled to support vertical movement up the stairs.

This also meant that the fog of war controller needed updating as well to support multi-plane levels.

I implemented a RTS style minimap, so the player can quickly zoom around and make quicker decisions. I also published the first draft of the games wiki to my website!

Thanks for tuning in for this weeks updates.
