One of the most requested features from the PROJECT HUNT community has always been the ability to hunt and fire weapons while riding a horse.
I’m happy to share that the core mounted shooting system is now working. Players can ride across the reserve, aim in different directions, and fire without having to dismount. This is still an early work-in-progress build, but the most important part—the basic gameplay loop of riding, tracking, aiming, and shooting from horseback—is finally in place.
I’m currently working on improving the aiming range, character animations, weapon positioning, recoil, and transitions between riding and shooting. Because the player, horse, weapon, and camera all need to move together naturally, this feature requires a lot of animation and technical adjustment, especially when aiming upward, downward, or to the sides.
There is still plenty of polishing left to do, and what you see in this video is not the final result. However, I wanted to share this development milestone because I know how many players have been waiting for it.
Mounted hunting should create a completely different way to explore the reserves, chase moving animals, and approach long-distance hunts. I’ll continue improving the system and share more progress as development continues.
Thank you for your patience and support. 🐎🔫
