We’ve been a little late with our Dev Log as we’ve been busy working on the demo and the game itself. Thank you for your patience. Since the demo was released, we’ve received a lot of wishlists and many great comments. We sincerely thank everyone who has enjoyed and supported the game.
We’ll continue updating the demo. We’ve also been receiving bug reports from you, and we’re reviewing and fixing them. With the full version, aim to provide a completely polished and bug-free gameplay experience.
Currently working on a new Storage System that will make it much easier to organize and manage your resources, equipment and loot. Storage will become an important part of managing and expanding your outpost.
The Gravity Gun is getting even more useful. You’ll be able to grab enemies with the Gravity Gun and throw them around. We’re working on making this mechanic useful both during exploration and when defending your outpost.
Spent a lot of time tracking down problems that could cause crashes, freezes and other unexpected issues. Several of these problems have now been fixed, and we’re continuing to improve the overall stability and performance of the game.
I also made a number of overall balance improvements across the game.
The economy, customer behavior, farming, progression, defense systems, prices, rewards and difficulty have all received adjustments to make the experience smoother and more enjoyable.
Turrets can now be placed on top of containers and other elevated surfaces, giving you more freedom when designing your defenses. We’re also continuing to improve enemy detection and defensive systems.
Several quality-of-life improvements have also been added:
Pick up items directly with E
Picked-up items are automatically added to your backpack
Improved inventory drag & drop
Double-click item handling
Weapon wheel rebinding improvements
I fixed various issues related to farming, crops, customer interactions and other outpost systems.
There have also been many smaller bug fixes and improvements throughout the game based on player feedback.
The next major update is already in development! One of the biggest additions will be vehicle controls, allowing us to start expanding the exploration and vehicle-related gameplay. More improvements and new features will also be included in the update.
And finally, we’re happy to announce that Outpost Simulator will be participating in Steam Next Fest from October 19–26! 🎉
We’re really excited to have more players try the demo and experience the game.
Thank you to everyone who has played the demo, reported bugs, shared feedback and added Outpost Simulator to their wishlist.
Development continues, and there’s much more to come!
