Hi everyone! My name is Smaiyl, and I’m the developer of Data Trader.

The story of the project began at the end of November 2025 during the offline Punkverse game jam. We had only 72 hours to develop the game, and at the last moment I ended up being the only person left on the team.

I needed to come up with a game that I could realistically make alone in three days. So I decided to create a fully 2D project with procedural content that would still stand out from the other games. That’s how the idea of a person sorting through archives full of digital garbage and trying to find genuinely useful files came to life.

The next 72 hours passed with almost no sleep and barely any proper food. But I managed to finish the game and even received the "Worldbreaker" award along with $200.

I spent $100 on creating the game’s Steam page. As for the remaining $100, I would like to split it with Mr. Trump for his contribution to my project. So, Mr. Trump, feel free to contact me, and I’ll be happy to transfer the money to you.

Right now, Assel and I are working on the game together. The main problem at the moment is time. We work on Data Trader in our free time, so progress is not as fast as we would like.

Your support would allow us to spend more time working on the game and maybe finally find a good artist. Because, to put it mildly, I’m not very good at drawing :(

If you’re interested in Data Trader, you can support the project on Patreon and Boosty. I’ll also be posting news and development materials there about a week earlier.
