The 2.9 update introduces dynamic forces tied to the river's terrain. The foam and waves are now your guides: observe them to anticipate the current's push, just like in real life. Learn to read the water to become one with the flow.
🌀 A Living River (Current Physics)
I’ve manually placed logical force systems so the water reacts to obstacles and riverbanks. This creates a whole new navigation dynamic:
Eddies & Trajectories: Use the counter-currents behind rocks. The Eddy is your best ally to catch your breath, scout the next rapid, or wait for your friends.
Side Force: Feel the forces pushing you laterally, forcing you to adjust your angle of attack.
Waterfall Boosts: A new force system at the base of drops creates a realistic exit acceleration.
Anti-Stuck System: A new push system that improves fluidity when plunging down massive vertical drops.
🏊 Swim System 2.0 (10x Smoother!)
The swimming system has been entirely rebuilt for a better experience:
Surface Navigation: Precise surface detection (goodbye "jump pop-up" bug).
Dive & Resurface: Dive down or come back up using E and Q, or simply by looking in the direction you want to go.
Swim Boost: Hold Shift for an intense swimming boost in critical situations.
Visual & Audio Immersion: New bubble system that follows your movements, realistic splashes in shallow water, and new sound effects for entering/exiting the water.
Online Optimization: This system fixes several desynchronization bugs in multiplayer.
