— Welcome to Lexing!
Thank you for playing the Huntian: StarTrace Demo!
This Demo is a work-in-progress version of the game. We hope you enjoy your time on Lexing. If you encounter any problems during your experience, or have any thoughts, feelings, or suggestions about Lexing, please feel free to let us know. We will take them seriously and continue improving the game based on the feedbacks you share with us.
A strange planet may call for some guidance. Of course, we also know that many people prefer to explore in their own way. We hope the information below will be helpful as you play.
Huntian: StarTrace is built around two core ideas: rebuilding civilization and transforming the planet. This demo features part of the middle section of the current main progression.
In the early and mid-game, we want much of the experience to be driven by simulation and management systems, while the later stages gradually introduce more survival and building elements.
The Planetary Control Module is both a core gameplay system and an important part of the game’s setting. It can trigger dramatic changes across the planet, opening up opportunities to discover more Civ. Fragments and advance the main journey.
Ultimately, rediscover the lost technology of the Artificial Star and reignite the warp arkship’s engine—fulfilling both the Pioneer’s own longing for home and humanity’s enduring desire to return to where it began.
The protagonist is an “enhanced” human from the age of Galactic Civilization, whose enhancements follow a long-standing ethical framework passed down from Earth Civilization, the Earth–Mars Civilization, and beyond.
The Pioneer wears the Lexing Kite, a powerful spacesuit capable of providing simulated gravity and other advanced functions.
After a long journey through the stars, the Pioneer looks forward to the moment when they can greet the rising sun and breathe air that feels like home.
The Planetary Control Module was the creation of an inventor from the age of Galactic Civilization. It became so popular that even a strategy board game inspired by the device was once considered one of the finest games of its era.
When supplied with enough power, a Planetary Control Module can trigger large-scale changes based on the theme of a planetary region.
Perhaps, once you have collected all eight main Planetary Control Module structures, the real journey of building across the open world and exploring without end has just begun.
A message from an unknown civilization — The following section may reveal parts of the story, progression, and gameplay mechanics. If you would rather preserve the feeling of discovering Lexing for the first time, you may want to close this guide here and simply set out on your own.
While using the Jetpack, press F to warp forward.
While using the Jetpack, alternate between Space and F to stay airborne a little longer.
A Workshop operating under a power limit will manufacture items more slowly. Use the Star-Abyss Synth to produce as many Mini PV Panels as possible, then place them inside the Workshop to increase its available power.
You will need 30 Cal-Sul Blocks and 20 Rare HC Alloys during exploration, so consider preparing them in advance.
After unlocking a Civ. Fragment, press 3 to enter the Civilization Legacy and view memories of civilization scattered across stars.
The Equipment Printer can upgrade both the Gathering Laser and the Jetpack. Some resources on the map require a Mining Laser Mk V to collect.
Equipment upgrades require the Tech Tree node Equipment Enhancement II.
Desert regions and sandstorms increase Stamina consumption. Make sure to bring enough recovery supplies before venturing too far into these areas.
Once the Desert Theme World is activated, the sandstorm will spread across a much larger area. If your Stamina is draining too quickly, you can temporarily remove Corona.
Place 3 Tuning Forks and 3 Honeycombs around Early Summer, together with Monsoon and Fertile Soil, to fully activate the Dandelion Theme World. This is required to trigger a Theme World Combat State.
Place Early Summer at your base and upgrade it to unlock the blueprints for Monsoon and Fertile Soil, which can then be produced by Matrix Printer.
Tuning Forks and Honeycombs can affect all main structures within their effective range.
Every building at the base has its own effective range, shown as a blue area when placing it. The main structure must be within this area for the building to take effect.
Different Theme Worlds can enter a Combat State with one another.
Place 3 Tuning Forks, 3 Honeycombs, and the corresponding secondary structures around both Corona and Early Summer, and make sure they are all active. This will trigger a Combat State between the Desert and Dandelion Theme Worlds. During this state, special tall dandelion plants will appear. Harvesting them can yield Water-Storing Tuber, which restore a large amount of Stamina.
The current Camp is not yet fully open, but some facilities can already be repaired. Tents and drinking-water facilities, for example, can restore Health and Stamina.
Some Camp facilities already include interactive features, such as the hammock and melon vines. Feel free to visit the Camp and try them out.
If there were only one tip for the game, it would be this:
Collect Planetary Control Module components, place and combine them however you like, watch the world transform, and keep exploring.
We are currently improving the protagonist’s movement and gravity systems, and we hope these changes will make the game feel much better to control.
We may release major updates during the Demo period. In some cases, saves from older versions may not be compatible with newer ones, and you may need to start a new game. We’ll be keeping a close eye on this.
We sincerely hope Lexing brings you many moments of joy.
Look forward to seeing you again in the full release!
