Turbo Era Boss Early Access 0.8.0 is now available for testing on Steam. This update builds on 0.7.5 with a clearer path into a career, a more convincing Team HQ and cleaner race-session decisions.

CAREER START AND INTRO

The main menu is always the first visible menu. New Career now presents a simpler choice between existing teams, a new team and the guided route, without an unnecessary “decide later” branch. The opening loading boundary uses the new intro video and can replay safely without trapping the player in the menu flow.

CUSTOM TEAM IDENTITY

Custom-team cars now use the same 256×128 proportions, wheel scale and mechanical detail as the canonical team sprites. The Team HQ header shows the selected car livery, team name, country flag and full engine specification, including the realistic year-and-step format such as “Bavaria Turbo — 1.5 Inline 4 85A”; engine development can progress through 85A–85D. Newly selected drivers keep their assigned helmet designs by default, while the Paddock Editor remains available for customisation.

TEAM HQ, THEMES AND RACE CONTROL

Premium Team HQ cards now give the car, team and power unit a clear hierarchy. Car artwork remains readable on light and dark themes, with contrast-safe surfaces and shared HUD colours and behaviour. Live Qualifying and Race Session Tower entries use a first-name initial plus the complete surname, making the driver under control easier to identify. Ignore all events now suppresses future events that do not involve either player car, while player events continue to appear.

TYRE CHOICES

Dry compounds are ordered A to D in every selection control: A — Softest, B — Soft, C — Hard and D — Hardest. Buttons show the capital letter on its own line above the short name, with the same labels and explanations localised across supported languages. Intermediates and wets remain separate weather compounds.

LOCALISATION AND RELEASE QUALITY

The prologue, onboarding and race-session copy stay aligned with the current product language set. The 0.8.0 build identity is synchronised across web, native desktop and Steam packaging, and the native depot is checked for the executable and Steam runtime side by side.

Thank you for testing Turbo Era Boss and helping us refine a deeper fictional turbo-era management game.
