Thank you very much for your patience. In a few days, I’ll be releasing the main version of the game, optimized for less powerful computers. The difference is truly HUGE, and you’ll also get more options to adjust the graphics settings to match your computer’s specs.
For now, however, I’m releasing this version as a public beta. Just go to game library, right click, properties, betas and select it!
Since the snow calculation system has been completely overhauled, there’s also a brand-new system for saving and loading game progress. After your first launch or after switching to the DLC for the first time, the system will automatically convert your save files to the new format.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to test all possible save scenarios, so I’ve included a feature that creates a backup of your old settings during the conversion!
I hope you won’t need it - but to ensure you don’t lose your game progress, two ZIP files will be created in the save directory: BackupOldSave_DLC00 for the base game and BackupOldSave_DLC01 for the DLC.
If anything goes wrong with your save, you can switch back to the main branch of the game (not the beta) and unzip these files! You won’t lose anything, and you’ll return to the previous version of the game.
If everything goes well, the beta version will be merged into the main branch (default branch) tomorrow afternoon. If you find any problems - let me know!
Thank you!
