Greetings new recruits! We've finally returned from the "Too Many Games" showcase wherein we encountered many new fans and villains alike. During the chaos, we managed to release a large update to Dukkido, full of many promised features! Behold:
Add lip-synced voice lines to Ignatius.
Add 3D cursor that changes shape depending on context. Helps convey what the mouse buttons do in different situations.
Add "research goals" system with green slips on the lightbox menu. The research goal updates as you delve into the mystery of the Cobalt Desert.
Add new scanning and auditing system. Recon's "scan" ability has been renamed to "sonar" to avoid confusion.
To scan, hold the flag building button with the cursor over a creature or mysterious entity.
Completing a scan creates an "atom" in the new research menu, accessible at the Scientist's table in the Convoy. Atoms contain descriptions of the scanned entities, serving as a form of collectible and bestiary.
Minions are automatically scanned the first time you recruit a new type from the wild.
To audit, hold the flag building button with the cursor over your own minion who is not in your squad. When the cursor finishes changing, release the button to create an Info Sphere. enemies caught in the Info Sphere take "audit damage". After enough audit damage, the audit is complete.
Completing an audit adds new info to the atom on the research menu.
On the research menu, drag atoms together to spend pink slips and attempt forming an "isotope". If the two atoms are related, a connection will form between them. This may reveal previously redacted passages from the two atoms' descriptions!
Add the sludge sucking pig. This creature hangs out near sand slingers, happily cleaning up sludge. They come in 6 different colors.
Long creatures align their body to the ground slope.
Deleting a flag restores some flag cooldown.
Fix a bug where you could delete yourself with a specific key combination.
11 other bug fixes.
Shorten the game's startup time by about 30%.
Shorten level loading time by loading levels in a background thread.
Add graphics options to turn off antialiasing and lower the shadow quality. Lowering shadow quality has a high impact on the frame rate.
3 other optimizations.
Thanks for looking! We'll actually be releasing another update soon, containing several tweaks based on player feedback from TooManyGames.
