All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

Controller support

Full support for PlayStation, Xbox, and similar controllers.

To ensure the controller works properly, make sure you've turned off Steam Input. You can do this on the game's page in your library.

MacOS version

Now the game should work on all x64 systems.

Linux

Now the game should work on Linux.

Steam Deck (in progress)

Now the recommended Runtime is proton-11.0-beta to play the game comfortably. Some problems may occur when launching the game natively.

In some cases, the game may take a long time to start due to shader compilation. This can take up to 5 minutes.

We are working on getting the game to natively launch and run on Steam Deck. Please leave your feedback below this post or in the Community Hub about your experience playing Dread Fields on Steam Deck.

Text endings

Added a text description of what happened to the main character after each ending of the game.

If you're reading this, then you should know that we added a secret ending - but nothing special, just an alternate text screen. By the way, this ending can be considered canonical.

What's next

  • 10+ new localizations (we are shocked by how many volunteers have volunteered to translate the Dread Fields into their languages)

  • finalize Steam Deck version

If you have any suggestions regarding the technical aspects of the game, please write them under this post. But remember that in our team of three, there is only one technician lol

Sincerely yours,
Podoba Interactive

Currently working on gamepad input support. I'm mostly a mouse+keyboard player, so it would be immensely valuable to hear your opinion on the action mapping. Here is what I came up to: Let me know in the comments what you think. A simple "It's ok" answer is more than welcome!
