Update 2.29.0: Throwing Axes

Granvir · published 2 May 2026, 07:18 UTC · build 23056375

All newsPlayers around this dateRead on Steam

This week's update adds a set of throwable one-handed axes. The axes deal massive damage when thrown but unlike the rocket powered Comet you'll need to pick them up yourself. Throwing mechanics have also been adjusted to better accommodate their new relevance. Thrown weapons will inherit you speed allowing you to throw them further with a well timed dash and they'll also benefit from all the same boosts as melee attacks.

2.29.0

Major Features

  • Added a series of 5 throwable axes across all tiers. Axes are close range one-handed melee weapons that always apply heat when used and can be thrown a short distance. The axes will fall to the ground in front of their target and must be picked up after being thrown. The last axe thrown will prioritize being held in the hand that threw it when picked up.

  • Added 3 first person cockpit panel overlay variants tied to various different torsos.

Minor Features

  • Added a 50% melee damage boost while grappling.

  • Added slight aim correction towards the target point for thrown weapons.

  • Added the ability for melee damage multipliers to increase the damage of thrown weapons.

  • Added the ability for thrown weapons to inherit the speed of the thrower.

  • Added tooltips to custom difficulty options.

  • Removed the credit display in Zero Front for characters that do not utilize credits.

  • Adjusted the size of text in the mech builder to make more space.

  • Added a custom difficulty setting to enable a built-in radar with a range up to 200 units.

  • Added the undiscovered text to parts in the manufacturing menu if they have not yet been added to the part codex.

Fixes

  • Fixed tune up effects being removed before entering boss stages.

  • Fixed being unable to apply the fast dash enhancement to certain rocket boosting parts.
