Major Update v0.5.21 introduces the comprehensive HUD v2 Interface Overhaul, featuring global "Show on Map" resource lighting, right-hand inspector docks, enforceable diplomatic ultimatums, in-port naval repairs, and community-reported bug fixes.
Rebuilt Split Architecture: The entire interface has been reconstructed from the ground up. The left side is permanently dedicated to your home nation via a slim icon rail with alert badges, while provinces, foreign nations, and ongoing wars open in a dedicated right-hand dock instead of covering the screen, keeping the 3D globe map always in view.
🌍 "Show on Map" Resource Lighting: Expanded resource rows in Economy › Resources and Markets › Provinces now feature a dedicated "◆ Show on map" button. Clicking it instantly lights up every single province across the globe possessing deposits or active production of that resource, dims the rest of the world, frames the camera, and opens a map legend displaying total province counts and deposit tiers.
🌐 "Show on Map" Diplomatic Relations: In Diplomacy › Relations, clicking "◆ Show on map" activates the diplomatic map mode with matching colored relation bands. Hovering over any foreign nation row dynamically tints that country on the 3D globe in real time.
🎯 Goal Board Map Highlighting: Clicking target flags in the Goal Board or Agenda highlights the relevant target nations and provinces directly on the globe.
Universal Command Palette: Click the search box in the top bar or press the shortcut to instantly search across all pages, values, countries, provinces, technologies, and actions, with safe navigation taking you directly to the relevant card.
Actionable Resource Shortages: Resource warnings don't just alert you to deficits—clicking "Build ›" directly targets a domestic province capable of constructing the necessary extraction or processing facility and opens the build drawer, or clearly explains why construction is unavailable.
Action Verdicts & Results Log: Every player action across diplomacy, ultimatums, peace deals, UN votes, espionage, decisions, and trades now generates a concrete verdict, explanation, and entry in the Results log. The Laws drawer now displays the full vote breakdown of the last parliament session.
Custom Metric Watchlist: Right-click any economic, political, or military metric to pin it to a live Watchlist section in the outliner for continuous tracking.
Priority Attention Strip: Alert pills under the top bar indicate the exact deviation, target value, and one-click navigation to resolve issues, with right-click options to Mute, Snooze for 1 month, or inspect "Why am I seeing this?" rules.
Rebuilt Workspaces:
Economy: Redesigned Budget showing monthly costs per slider, Monetary page explaining inflation drivers, and the Markets Workspace featuring all 54 resources in one table with a docked trade ticket.
Military: Unified Forces roster, and an upgraded Recruit page featuring Auto, Map, and Manual recruitment modes.
Intelligence: Deploy specialists directly from the foreign dock without switching away from your country.
Politics & Agendas: Electorate voter breakdown, interactive Law comparison drawers, Knowledge Network matrix, and dynamic Goal Board.
Your Thoughts Shape the Game: Rebuilding the entire interface is a massive transition, and we are fully dedicated to making it as intuitive, responsive, and comfortable as possible.
Ongoing Usability Iterations: Please try out the new layouts, docks, and command flows, and let us know what you think! Whether it's layout balance, font sizing, or specific screen workflows, our team will be actively reviewing community discussions and Discord feedback to polish and improve usability in upcoming patches.
Ultimatums with Teeth: Refusing a diplomatic ultimatum now grants immediate war justification (Casus Belli), and AI nations will follow through into war.
Human Ultimatum Responses: Human players in single-player and multiplayer can now directly respond to incoming AI ultimatums via a dedicated response modal or the diplomatic inbox.
Transparent Call to Arms: When calling allies to war, players are clearly informed who answered, who refused, and the exact reasons behind any refusal.
Dynamic Stability Targets: National stability now moves dynamically toward a tailored per-country target rather than settling statically at 100%.
In-Port Fleet Repairs: Damaged warships now repair hull HP and recover morale while docked in port.
Peacetime Fleet Return-Home: Idle peacetime fleets automatically return home to their naval bases (or territorial coastlines if no base exists).
Graduated Ship Sinking: Fleet damage now sinks individual ships from pooled stacks gradually based on incoming damage rather than wiping entire flotillas in a single hit.
Commissioning & Evacuation: Newly commissioned ships launch docked in port, and peace treaties automatically expel foreign fleets from ceded harbors.
Airfield Wing Limits: Land airfields now strictly enforce capacities of 2, 3, and 4 air wings at airfield levels 1, 2, and 3, clearly displaying available slots and upgrade requirements.
Balanced Auto-Buy: Reserve auto-buy now properly covers monthly consumption deficits without exceeding national stockpile caps.
Authentic Processing Requirements: Industrial processing buildings now strictly require raw inputs to operate, ending artificial free manufacturing.
Physical Bilateral Deliveries: Bilateral trade agreements now physically route resources directly out of the seller's stockpile.
Clean Country Elimination: Eliminated countries immediately drop their GDP to zero, and the global oil shock event rolls once per world rather than once per country.
Pre-Upload "Validate Mod" Tool: Added a comprehensive validator in the Mod Builder to catch errors before publishing to Steam Workshop.
Custom Mod Events & Images: Mods can now ship custom event artwork, use deterministic load orders, and define exclusive unit rosters.
Selection Input Fix: Shift and Right Ctrl now properly add units to selections alongside Left Ctrl.
Complete 13-Locale Localization: Extensive translation pass across all 12 non-English languages, including Turkish grammar vowel harmony, formal European Portuguese registers, and corrected sea/ocean zone names.
