Where the game is right now

Update 0.1.11 is now live in the free demo.

The update introduces a new fortress building line with four tiers and four different architectural styles. Fortresses also play an important role in conquest: as long as at least one of your fortresses is still standing, you remain in the game.

The AI economy has also been improved and no longer hoards huge amounts of stone while running out of essential resources like wood.

Retreat orders now work more reliably, repeat unit training has been added, and a loading-related memory leak of around 2 GB has been fixed.

What's next

  • Better onboarding
The scripted tutorial has been removed from the demo for now. Instead, I'm working on contextual in-match hints that explain the most important mechanics while you actually play.
  • Steam Next Fest – February 2027
Voxel Dynasties is planned to participate in Steam Next Fest in February 2027, with livestreams, an improved demo and a much more polished first-hour experience.
  • Full release planned for 2027
The full game is planned to feature ten ages from the Stone Age to the Atomic Age, a destructible voxel world, Hero Mode, AI opponents, multiplayer and many more systems.

Follow the development

From now on, I'll be regularly sharing short gameplay videos focused on individual mechanics, units and systems across YouTube Shorts, TikTok and Instagram.

I'm also planning longer, uncut matches on YouTube and a Discord community for feedback, multiplayer tests and development updates.

You can find the links on the Steam store page and at voxeldynasties.com.

Wishlist Voxel Dynasties

Voxel Dynasties is being developed by one person using a custom-built Java engine.

For a small indie project like this, wishlists make a huge difference and help Steam show the game to more players.

If you've played the demo and want to follow the development toward the full release, consider adding Voxel Dynasties to your wishlist.

Thank you for playing and following the project.
