DriftGuard Update v0.5.1.5

Improved User Interface

The UI has been refreshed with a more modern look, easier navigation, and a more intuitive workflow, making controller testing, diagnostics, and calibration easier to use.

Expanded Controller Coverage

  • PlayStation: DualSense Edge, DualSense, DualShock 4, DualShock 3, PlayStation Access Controller, and PlayStation VR2 Sense Controller.

  • Xbox: Xbox Wireless Controller Series X|S, Xbox Wireless Controller Xbox One / One S / One X, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller V2, Xbox Elite Wireless Controller V1, Xbox 360 Wired Controller, Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, and more.

  • Nintendo: Switch Pro Controller, Switch Joy-Con L, and Switch Joy-Con R.

  • Other gamepads: input testing is available in Gamepad Tester mode when the controller is exposed by the system.

Native Steam Version Improvements

The Steam version is the native DriftGuard build. It includes the core testing and calibration tools, plus lower-level device access for workflows that browser-only builds cannot provide.

  • Lower-level device access: native communication enables supported workflows through HID, USB, GameInput, or Xbox GIP access where required.

  • Broader calibration access: native access allows calibration workflows for more controllers that require direct device communication.

  • DualShock 3 support: native workflows make DualShock 3 support possible where available.

  • Xbox Series calibration support: Xbox Series controller family on firmware 5.20+ can be calibrated without changing drivers where supported.

  • Expanded telemetry: supported DualSense, DualSense Edge, and Xbox controllers can expose usage and health records such as active time, connection counts, charge data, button/stick counters, trigger usage, and model-specific hardware records.

  • Ad-free interface: the Steam build of DriftGuard does not include advertisements.

Compatibility Improvements

  • Clearer compatibility rules: features are no longer presented as universally available for every controller.

  • Model-dependent tools: calibration, telemetry, audio, lighting, haptics, motion, and advanced hardware features depend on controller model, firmware version, connection type, and driver access.

  • Automatic tool availability: DriftGuard only shows calibration and advanced tools when they are available for the connected controller.

  • Hardware repair may still be needed: DriftGuard can help with supported calibration issues, but severe physical wear, damaged sensors, broken modules, or faulty boards may still require physical repair.

Supporting Development

  • Steam purchase support: buying the Steam version supports continued DriftGuard development.

  • Funding future improvements: purchases help fund compatibility research, native controller support, calibration improvements, and long-term project maintenance.

Summary

This update changes DriftGuard from a mostly PlayStation-focused drift testing and calibration utility into a broader native controller diagnostics and maintenance tool. The new version expands supported controller families, adds clearer repair validation workflows, improves calibration and telemetry messaging.
