vrOS v1.12.0 Patch Notes

New Features

  • Pop-out stream windows: Twitch streams on desktop now play in their own window — one per stream — with fullscreen via a hover button, double-click, or F11.
  • Player controls: hover over a pop-out stream window for play/pause, mute, a volume slider, and fullscreen. They stay in sync with the stream card, and a new "Show controls on player" toggle on the Live → Streams tab hides them if you prefer a clean window.
  • Clips: a Clip button on the stream card captures the live moment and gives you a link to copy or open. Twitch needs a one-time reconnect to grant the new permission — you'll see a prompt.
  • Watch where you are: pressing Watch now opens the stream on the surface you pressed it from (desktop window or VR), and a new "Show in VR" / "Show on desktop" button brings a playing stream to the other surface without restarting it.
  • Live at a glance: stream cards show a pulsing LIVE badge, viewer count, and uptime before you start watching, and recent-channel chips get a pulsing live dot with the viewer count on hover.
  • Live notifications: optional dashboard toasts when your stream goes live or offline — toggle under Settings → Twitch → General.
  • The pop-out chat window now shows a LIVE badge with your current viewer count.
  • Twitch sign-in for playback: link your Twitch browser session under Settings → Twitch → General so streams play with your account's benefits (fewer ads, subscriber-only streams). Guided sign-in or manual paste — and clearing it asks for confirmation first, since playback falls back to anonymous.
  • Stream quality gets an Auto option, and your chosen quality is remembered for future streams.
  • Chat messages that @mention you are now highlighted.

Bug Fixes

  • Ad warnings no longer linger after your stream ends.
  • Chat auto-scroll no longer silently stops after emote images load — chat stays pinned to the bottom unless you scroll up on purpose.
  • When a live stream's connection drops, the player now reconnects in place — faster, without tearing the video down — and if the channel has truly ended, the card shows that with a Retry button instead of freezing on the last frame.
  • Watching a channel that's offline or doesn't exist no longer leaves the card stuck on Stop — the error shows next to the Watch button and retrying works right away.
  • Stream cards stay in sync between VR and the desktop window — starting or stopping a stream on one side updates the other immediately.
  • Going live now shows in your stream status immediately instead of waiting for the next check.
  • Pop-out stream windows now show the vrOS icon.
  • Fixed a visual artifact on disabled tabs (a stray line and a darkened neighboring tab).
