The demo is out. Go break it!

Numbers Go Up is 2048 reimagined as a hardcore roguelike deckbuilder. you play the grid, beat a score target, then walk into a black-market bazaar and buy contraband programs that change how the game works.

how is it exactly a deckbuilder?

TLDR: the tiles. when you merge into a tile, it gets added to your spawn pool, or "deck". each tile in your spawn pool rolls to be spawned after every move, and the default chances are [1 in tile value]. for example, a [2] spawns every [1 in 2] spawns, or 50% of the time, or a 64 spawns [1 in 64] or ~1.5% of the time. you can fix your deck by adjusting this probability until one or more tiles always spawn for you - using certain programs (called renice and unlink) or mods like oops all 4s. You can further customize and build towards a certain value and enhancement combo and REALLY start breaking the game's number system.

The demo has a LOT of content, and if you do play 10 hours into it, great! please leave a review and wishlist the game!

Enjoy, and see you in PVP!

Sam

I've made some improvements to the scoring system as well as fixing a bunch of issues and adjusting the balance of the game. Three days of watching strangers figure out the merge in real time, getting absolutely wrecked by The Rot, and chaining combos I didn't know my own game could do. The single most common reaction at the booth: "WAIT... it has MULTIPLAYER?!" A few things came up in feedback I want to bake into the demo: · Tooltips and text in general need to be bigger (by far the…
