v0.8.2 Patch 1 · UI Improvements & Legacy Chat Window Returns 🐾

Sorry for the wait. After v0.8.2 launched, we received a wave of feedback from longtime users — many felt that the new UI didn't quite fit their everyday chat and usage habits. On top of that, the new UI shipped with a number of bugs that slipped through before launch. Dev Neko has been heads-down for the past two days working through fixes and improvements.

🖥️ New chat window improvements

Tip: Did you know? Clicking the blue bar above the input box in the new UI will expand or collapse your conversation history!

1. Music recommendation cards can now be correctly paused or dismissed.

2. The input box now supports more flexible resizing — it can be made narrower than before.

3. The conversation history panel now supports vertical resizing, giving you full control over its height.

4. In response to user feedback, the staggered message layout has been removed — messages are now aligned to both sides.

5. Fixed a black background visible beneath the subtitle window in dark mode.

🔧 Other fixes

1. Some users experienced Electron errors caused by locked cloud save paths — a fix has been applied and we're continuing to monitor.

2. Some longtime users found their default voice had reverted from Yui to "qingchunshaonv." New reversions will no longer occur. If you've been affected, please manually switch your voice back to Yui in your character card.

💬 The legacy chat window is back

In response to community feedback, the legacy chat window is returning as an option. You can now choose your preferred window style from the right-click menu in the system tray and switch between old and new at any time.

One thing worth noting in advance: future feature support for the legacy chat window may lag behind the new version. We wanted to be upfront about that.

A quick note on timing — this patch took longer than usual for a reason. Over the past 48 hours, more than 24 hours of development time went into making the old and new chat windows switch and coexist properly. Thanks for your patience.
