Shadowforge Sticker Outline Tutorial

This tutorial explains the process shown in the video for creating a sticker-style outline effect around artwork in Shadowforge.

Goal

The creator is turning a dark wizard/crow artwork into a clean sticker graphic by adding a thick white outline and placing it on a colored background.

The finished effect looks like a printable sticker or emote with a bold border.

Step 1 — Open the Artwork

  1. Launch Shadowforge.

  2. Open or import your artwork.

  3. Place the artwork on the canvas.

In the video, the creator uses a dark bird-like wizard character.

Step 2 — Prepare the Canvas

  1. Make sure the character is centered on the workspace.

  2. Leave enough empty space around the artwork for the outline.

  3. Zoom in if necessary so the edges are easy to see.

The creator frequently adjusts the zoom level while working.

Step 3 — Add a White Sticker Outline

The main effect in the video is the thick white border.

Process

  1. Select the outline or border tool.

  2. Choose a white color.

  3. Increase the outline thickness.

  4. Apply the outline around the entire character.

The creator adjusts the thickness several times until the border looks smooth and balanced.

Important Tip

A sticker outline works best when:

  • The border is thick enough to separate the artwork from the background.

  • The outline is consistent around all edges.

  • Small gaps and sharp corners are cleaned up.

Step 4 — Refine the Shape

After applying the border, the creator carefully checks:

  • The hat edges

  • The claws

  • The robe corners

  • Small sharp points

The outline is adjusted so it flows smoothly around the artwork.

This makes the sticker look cleaner and more professional.

Step 5 — Resize and Reposition

The creator then:

  1. Resizes the artwork slightly.

  2. Moves it around the canvas.

  3. Makes sure the outline fits comfortably inside the working area.

This prevents the border from touching the canvas edges.

Step 6 — Add a Background Color

A blue background is added behind the sticker.

To do this:

  1. Create or select a background layer.

  2. Fill it with a solid blue color.

  3. Keep the outlined character above the background layer.

The blue background helps the white outline stand out clearly.

Step 7 — Final Adjustments

The creator spends time making small corrections:

  • Tweaking the outline thickness

  • Adjusting positioning

  • Checking the overall balance

  • Making sure the border remains clean at every zoom level

These finishing touches improve the final presentation.

Step 8 — Export the Sticker

Once satisfied:

  1. Save the project.

  2. Export the image.

  3. Use PNG format if you want transparency.

PNG is ideal for:

  • Discord stickers

  • Twitch emotes

  • YouTube graphics

  • Game assets

  • Social media graphics

Extra Tips

Use High Contrast

Dark artwork works especially well with:

  • White outlines

  • Bright backgrounds

  • Thick borders

Avoid Thin Borders

Thin outlines can disappear when scaled down.

Keep the Shape Readable

Sticker designs should still be recognizable from a distance.

Result

By the end of the video, the creator has:

  • Added a thick white sticker border

  • Cleaned the outline shape

  • Positioned the artwork properly

  • Added a blue background

  • Created a polished sticker-style graphic in Shadowforge

Summary

The workflow shown in the video is:

  1. Import artwork

  2. Add thick white outline

  3. Refine edges

  4. Resize and position

  5. Add colored background

  6. Export final sticker graphic

This is a simple but effective method for creating professional-looking sticker art inside Shadowforge.
