Smoke now spreads and drifts across the dungeon each turn, thinning out over time and pushed along by a prevailing wind that shifts direction periodically. Standing in thick smoke, or attacking something that is, makes it harder to land a hit, for both the player and enemies. Smoke is rendered as a translucent haze and is only visible within your current field of view, so it can drift into sight from around corners
Smoke moves around the dungeon
That's right there are more particles for floor tiles like acid, water, void, and more!
More fun particles!
Throwing potions into lava will cause smoke to billow out, same with throwing items into lava. Spells, wands, and potions now interact with their environment when thrown or used. For example using a ice wand near or on water will freeze it solid! After a while this ice will melts.
Ice wands will freeze water in the path of the attack
You can now double tap a direction to run in that direction. You can also press H to wait until you are healed! Don't like the run command or you think the doubletap is not sensitive enough. You can modify the sensitivity in the settings.
You can change the sensitivity of the Run command
- Scroll of Identify now correctly marks the scroll itself as identified when read
- Two spellbooks sharing the same name no longer show different intelligence requirements from each other
- Starting gear no longer shows up as an unidentified item to inspect at shrines
- The "killed by" message on the game over screen now correctly names the actual cause of death
- The Dungeon's End final boss no longer spawns multiple times when repeatedly ascending with the Amulet
- Dropping a piece of equipped gear that is cursed no longer duplicates it onto the floor while it remains stuck in the equipped slot
- Bonded rings, lanterns, weapons, and armor can now be swapped out for a different item while worn, instead of only being removable
- Luminos's equipment purification boon and Remove Curse scroll now also clear curses on the ranged weapon slot
- Items thrown into lava or burning oil no longer also leave a duplicate copy of themselves sitting on the floor
- Ice created by freeze spells and effects melts back into water over time, instead of staying frozen forever
- Smoke spreads and drifts across the dungeon each turn, thinning out over time and pushed along by a prevailing wind that shifts direction periodically
- Standing in thick smoke, or attacking someone who is, makes it harder to land a hit, for both the player and enemies
- Smoke is rendered as a translucent haze and is only visible within your current field of view, so it can drift into sight from around corners
- Throwing an item into lava or burning oil sets it alight, producing smoke until it burns away; metal and stone gear can't catch fire and just sinks and is lost instead
- Potions thrown into lava or burning oil burst instantly into a cloud of smoke instead of shattering normally
- Frost Bolt, Frost Nova, the Wand of Frost, and the Freeze Scroll now freeze any water they pass through or hit, not just the ground directly under the target
- Wading through water leaves you Wet for a few turns, weakening fire damage against you but leaving you more vulnerable to lightning; standing near lava dries you off early
- Fire can now spread between nearby flammable items left burning on the floor
- Burning oil now fills the air with smoke for as long as it keeps burning
- Frost Nova can freeze the surface of lava into a short-lived ice bridge, though it melts back into lava quickly, dumping anyone still standing on it back into the fire
- Throwing a Potion of Health onto burning oil douses it in a burst of steam
- Throwing a Potion of Fire into water bursts into steam
- Added a Datamosh filter under Options > Display; blends stale, drifting compression-style glitch blocks from previous frames over the screen at Subtle/Normal/Heavy strength (Off by default)
- Rest command repeats Wait until your HP and mana are full or you're interrupted; refuses to start with an enemy in sight and stops immediately if one comes into view
- Double-tapping a direction now Runs that way automatically, stopping before walls, closed doors, known traps, other actors, or room entrances instead of requiring a key press per tile
