The big two this time: hits that finally tell you what they landed on, and a solid framerate pass. Plus a couple of fixes you asked for.
Saves from 0.20.1 still load.
New
- Hits look and sound different depending on what they land on. A round striking sand, a cruiser's armor plating, or a swarm body now has its own effect and its own sound. Until now every hit looked and sounded like it landed in the sand.
Performance
- The game runs noticeably smoother. Several constant costs are gone without changing how anything looks. The chain rigs on distant drives are merged instead of drawn one by one. Interior fittings, lights and track links no longer cast their own shadows, and loose floor stacks don't either. The climate simulation stops running while you're parked, and the main-menu cruiser got the same merge treatment.
- You can now switch off crew shadows for a few extra frames, under the graphics options.
Fixed
- The camera no longer crawls across the map to your cruiser after you load a save. It's just there.
- Storage trend arrows no longer sit blank when a cruiser has no storage. You get a dimmed dash and a tooltip that says why, instead of an empty gap that looked broken.
Known issues
- Everything listed under 0.20.1 still applies.
