1.0.01 UPDATE

Hello, Players!

This is the first patch we’ve released since the launch of the game!

We discovered a few issues that we had been considering right up until release, as well as some bugs that never appeared during our pre-release testing but started occurring when players got their hands on the game. So, we decided to push out an update as quickly as possible.

The game may still have its shortcomings, but we truly appreciate everyone who has been playing it. We plan to continue updating the game while listening to your feedback, so we’d be very grateful if you continue to share your thoughts and suggestions with us!

Patch Notes

🍙 Adjusted the title screen music volume and added an easily accessible Settings option.

  • We received feedback that the title screen music was too loud.

This was something we were aware of from the beginning. We had already lowered the volume before release, but apparently it still wasn’t enough, so we’ve lowered it even further in this update.

  • Previously, Settings could only be accessed from the lobby. However, we noticed players struggling with the loud title screen music because there was no way to adjust it while on the title screen.

We honestly didn’t expect you to spend that long waiting for your friends on the title screen! 😂

So, we’ve added the Settings button to the top-right corner.

Now you can adjust your settings while waiting for your friends on the title screen, or make changes later from the lobby.

🍙 Fixed an issue where picking up a friend could cause them to die for no apparent reason on certain maps.

  • We discovered a bug where picking up another player on certain maps could cause them to be treated as if they had been hit by a spike.

    This has now been fixed!

So, if your friend is having trouble getting through an area, try picking them up and saving them by moving them to a safe spot before the spikes come up.

However, if the spikes have already come up before you pick them up, they’ll still die immediately. That’s not a bug! 😂

🍙 Removed the caviar from the Normal version and replaced it with the current stage number.

  • We originally planned to use the caviar for an in-game event, but due to some internal circumstances, we’ve decided to postpone that feature for now.

We’ll bring it back in a future update once we have a clearer design for how it will work.

  • As for the stage indicator, we originally wanted to avoid distracting players during gameplay. The Host could press ESC and select the stage to check the current stage or return to a previous stage.

However... we started to feel that this actually made the game feel more tedious than it needed to be.

So, we’ve replaced the caviar indicator with the current stage number.

Now you can see which stage you’re currently on in real time while playing Normal mode!

The Speedrun mode remains unchanged — you can still check the stage by pressing ESC.

🍙 Added checkpoints to certain stages in Normal mode.

  • There were a few stages where we debated whether or not to add checkpoints.

We originally decided not to add them because we were worried about creating new bugs, and instead made those stages easier.

However... we noticed that players were getting stuck and becoming pretty mentally exhausted trying to clear them.

  • We were worried that adding checkpoints would make the overall playtime drop too much. But we felt that making the game tedious was a much bigger problem.

So, we’ve added checkpoints to certain stages.

We’re also considering adding checkpoints to a few more stages, but we’ll decide based on how players are actually progressing through the game.

There are NO checkpoints in Speedrun mode, on any stage!

🍙 Possible Future Updates (Maybe. Maybe not. The more players we have, the sooner we’ll be back!)

  • Reveal each player's total number of deaths after completing each stage

  • Final Speedrun leaderboard (We’re slowly working on this one... very slowly.)

  • More communication/interactions between players

  • Customization items for your rice balls (Someday...)

*Although the interface is entirely in English, the game may appear as supporting Korean and other languages because checking “Language is not required to play the game” on Steam causes the game to be displayed as supporting all languages worldwide.
