This update is not live yet. We're in the final stretch and hope to have it in your hands shortly — this is a look at what's coming to PlaygroundVR. It's a big one. Here's what's in it.
One transition for the whole game. Every teleport, every door between rooms and every vehicle you climb into now runs through the same sequence — fade out, hold, move you, hold, fade back in — with timings tuned for comfort.
A level horizon. Whatever you've been riding, your view comes back level when you step off.
Reset view. Hold the menu button and your view recentres to a known good position, wherever you are.
A steadier picture, including in the moments right after you arrive somewhere new.
Run with your arms. Swing your arms like a runner and you move — no stick needed. Swing harder and you build up to a sprint.
Jump with your hands. Throw both arms up and you jump. Throw them up as you jump and you go higher.
Pull yourself up. Reach a ledge while climbing and you can mantle over the top of it.
The hot air balloon. The burner sets how fast you climb, the stick drifts you across the city, and the basket carries you smoothly while you fly. It has a full instrument panel now — burner, altitude, climb rate and speed.
The car. Quicker, with predictable gears and power, and it sits still when you're parked.
Two hands on the wheel. Grab any steering wheel with both hands and each hand takes its own place on the rim.
Weapons. Reworked handling with recoil, reloading and real ammo counts.
The Shooting Range. A clean sandbox range with static and moving targets, three courses to pick from, a bow and shield, a full-size archery target, and a scoreboard tracking your points and stats. The Parkour Courses. Three timed courses built from grip points, climbs, rope swings, moving platforms you ride, and moving obstacles that try to knock you off. Blueprint-style sandbox visuals, and a timer so you can chase your own best run.
Effects across the city now run on a budget, and props and effects switch off at distance to keep frames steady.
The city's crowds move naturally and react when you get involved with them.
New UI throughout — dashboards, menus and readouts with a fresh, modern look.
We're not putting a date on it yet, but this is the update we want to leave Early Access on. When it's finished and it holds up, that's the 1.0. It's a free update for everyone who owns the game. Thanks to everyone playing and sending feedback. — Source Byte
