Hello! Welcome to Build Battle.

This game was truly made by one person. I actually started making it back in late middle school/early high school (AI wasn't a thing back then! I learned to code with a physical book, online documentation, and tutorials). After several years of stepping away and coming back to it every now and then, I finally decided I needed to put it out there for other people to enjoy.

I first made this game using UNet (Unet is gone now), and I really wish I could fire up that old version and compare the two side-by-side! The game is completely different now with sound effects and explosions. So many things I never even knew would be in it! Electricity, automated building machines, and full Steam integration—I never thought it would come this far.

I am launching this game for free. It's not the only video game I've ever made (there are plenty of projects that will never see the light of day), but it is the first game I have put on Steam. I make games because I enjoy watching other people get excited about what I'm excited about, and because I love having fun.

Join the Community & Report Issues

Please join the Discord server if you are looking for other people to play against or if you run into any issues with the game. You can also recommend ideas to me, I plan to update the game. I will be on there, and if nothing else, you can try to challenge me—though good luck, considering how many hours I've spent testing features and hunting bugs!

Special Thanks

That brings me to the last bit: while I'm the only person who coded and hand-drew the sprites, there are several people who helped me test the game (it is multiplayer, after all).

Massive thanks to everyone who kept coming back and helping me test, even after they were completely tired of playing this game over and over, even when bugs stopped the matches or ruined things right when they were about to get fun.

Please grab some friends, and enjoy Build Battle!
