Monstro Goes Free and Open Source

Mid September Monstro, along with its soundtrack, will become free on Steam. I will also release the sources for this game on GitHub - expect another announcement soon.

But why?

It's really about three things: money, statement and promoting my upcoming new release. So let's break it down!

Money: I haven't earned anything from this game in years and while I don't mind it, it's a bit of a painful reminder of all the things I regret with this project. I had an offer or two of some suspicious people wanting to buy the game off me for some extra cash, but that's where the second part comes in.

Statement: my qualms aside, it was still a project I invested considerable time into. While there is an amount of money I'd be willing to accept to part with it, it's not something anyone would offer for it. I want people to be able to play it. I want people to still have some last minute fun. So the next best thing is to set it free.

Promoting: this is also an excuse to cross promote my upcoming game that's been in Early Access for a bit over a year. An excellent puzzle game Trans Neuronica which you can also find on Steam.

To everyone who played the game before - THANK YOU!
