As in, completely free. No-strings-attached free. No microtransactions, no dark patterns, no catch. This is a game we wanted to make so very much: a funny story-driven roguelite with hard tactical battles where characters would occasionally act out. We poured a lot of work into it, and we love the result.
And we don't want a price tag to stand between the game and the people who might enjoy it.
These days, games and other media get banned or disappear, AAAAA-games receive AAAAA price tags, exclusives limit reach, and more and more of what we enjoy gets locked behind one service or another. Connecting with others through the things we love can be harder than it should be.
It also feels fitting. After all, Outcast Tales is a story about a bunch of people trying to get out of poverty. We suspect the Hound, Technomancer, Savage, and the rest would approve of making some fun in this world free (unless any of them has the Antihero personality, of course).
By the way, Inner Pocket is fully behind us on this. They're publishing a game that won't make them a cent, because they believe this is the right thing to do.
You've seen games that stay free right up until the store screen loads, or the battle pass shows up. This isn't that. No store. No currency you buy with real money. No Season 12 anything. Just the whole game, from day one.
So please grab our game when it launches and have fun with it. This is all we ever wanted to bring to this world: fun.
The initial release will support two languages: English and Russian. Speak another one? You could be the reason it ends up in the game.

Contributing translators will be included in the game's credits as a thank-you for their time and support.
Anyway, don't wander too far. Follow Outcast Tales on Steam, keep playing the demo, and stay tuned for the news about full release.
