A Note About Category 6 Before Launch

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone who has wishlisted Category 6. When I decided to make this game, one of my biggest goals was to have 10,000 people interested enough to wishlist it before launch. I’m incredibly grateful that we’ve now more than doubled that number.

I also want to thank everyone who played the demo and took the time to share feedback. Your comments, suggestions, and bug reports have helped shape Category 6 into the game it is today, and I truly appreciate everyone who took the time to help me improve it.

I’ve been working on Category 6 as a solo developer for over three years now. There are still plenty of things I’d love to add and improve, but after working on the game for this long, I feel like the time has finally come to release it and let players experience the full game.

That doesn’t mean development is over, though.

I plan to continue working on Category 6 after launch, with future updates adding new content and improvements, and all of that content will be free.

I want to see where the game can go based on player feedback, and I’m excited to continue growing and improving it over the coming months.

Here are some ideas I’m already considering for future updates:

  • Homestead Mode — A mode focused on building your own cabin and base, while defending it from scavengers.

  • Trophy Hunting — Hunt rare fish and wildlife that can provide unique rewards.

  • Side Missions — More stories and characters to discover throughout the world.

  • More Valuable & Unique Items — More interesting loot to find and sell to the Merchant.

  • More NPC Variety — More characters and encounters throughout the world.

  • More Blueprints — New crafting options and items to discover.

These are just some of the ideas I have in mind, but I’m always open to suggestions from the people actually playing the game. If there’s something you’d like to see added, improved, or changed, I’d love to hear about it.

Thank you again for your interest in Category 6, for wishlisting the game, playing the demo, sharing feedback, and supporting me throughout this journey. As a solo developer, seeing people excited about something I’ve spent the last three years creating means more than I can really put into words.

I hope you enjoy the game.

Keep on surviving,

Andy
