We know that for many of you, the voice performance of the actor portraying Franklin in Don't Be Afraid was one of the defining characteristics of the game. You loved and were simultaneously terrified by the voice created by great Eric Pasquet for this character, which redefined how layered and powerful a voice-over can be, breathing life into twisted character of Franklin.
Unfortunately, after the release of Don't Be Afraid, Eric fell ill. Due to his health condition, he was not only unable to take part in Don't Be Afraid 2, but was also forced to step away from his passion for voice acting.
However, Don't Be Afraid holds a special place in both his heart and ours. Despite ongoing health struggles, Eric agreed to participate in the production of Insanitorium – Don't Be Afraid. We are very happy that this opportunity has reignited his passion for bringing characters to life. As he says:
"This has awakened a fiery determination for voice acting that I almost feared had been lost"
Due to his continuing health challenges, Eric decided to collaborate with us on dialogues related to the mannequins, a sample of which you can listen to below. But this is only a glimpse of the incredible work Eric is recording to bring the mannequins to life - an essential part of the Don't Be Afraid games.
