Roadmap and upcoming price adjustment

Competitors!

Firstly, thank you to everyone who’s supported LASERS since its release. We’ve really enjoyed seeing players having so much fun with the game!

Price Adjustment

As you may already know, LASERS released on Steam as free-to-play. After much deliberation, we’ve decided to change this. From February 29th at 10:00 AM PST, LASERS will be priced at $2.99. If you already own the game, you will not have to pay anything to continue playing.

The reason for this change is simple: although we’ve had a small, solid community of people downloading the game and purchasing the optional cosmetics, it’s simply not making enough profit to allow us to pay for the servers to run it, or our developers to keep supporting it. That said, we don’t want to abandon the game, because we believe in it, and would like to continue developing it.

2024 Roadmap

We already have 6 new maps ready to go and will move them to the public beta branch in the next few weeks. Make sure to join our Discord server for further announcements regarding the beta release. For more planned new features, see below.

We’ve been asked by many of you about the possibility of community map creation. We’ve thought this through, and are now considering Steam Workshop integration. Please note, this isn’t a certainty - it’s a large amount of work, but we’d really like to include the community in map creation somehow. We know lots of you will have great (and punishing..) level ideas!

Once again, thank you for your support since LASERS’ release. We hope the decision to charge a small amount for the game make sense, and we look forward to bringing you more laser-dodging, limb brutalising insanity in the near future!
